This is disgusting, after all the hard work this morning cleaning up all the litter, some people can’t even use a bin. These people would have walked past at least 1 of the 9 bins in the Park and they chose to drop their litter on the floor. Who are these people who have so little regard for our Park? Those that think it is okay to throw bottles, cans and everything else anywhere but in a bin! Makes you wonder why bother trying to keep the Park nice when it’s obvious these people don’t!!!! 😠

Early morning walk through the Park and the dawn chorus was amazing!! Blackbird, chiff chaff, song thrush, robin, wood pigeon, blackcap, great tit and probably more. It’s so beautiful that these birds are in our Park and so beautiful to hear them. I love our park! ❤️

Some of you may have seen the tent in the conservation area. Camping is not allowed in public parks. The police and the council were informed and did nothing. Having spoken with two police officers in the Park, they basically said they are known to them and aren’t hurting anyone.
These “harmless” campers set fire to a load of stuff on the fields behind Vivian Road where they had been camping last week. They have now left their rubbish behind here for someone else to remove.
The police/council are quick to move on the homeless tents but because they look like ‘proper’ campers they do nothing!!
This is not a campsite! It is for our wildlife to live without being disturbed or harmed.
The Park is not a campsite! It is for people to visit and enjoy without worry.

A little bit of a history lesson behind our Rockery and how it came about. The rocks are from the spoil of Broadfield Colliery which operated in the 1750s and had two mine shafts. When it closed, it was later transformed into Fenton Park and the spoil from the shafts was landscaped and extended to become the Rockery and the playing fields in 1957.
The Rockery has been part of Fenton Park for a very long time and should remain here for years to come. ❤️😁🏞️
