Shared Lives Stoke are at West End community centre why not pop along and see us and we can provide information on our day opportunities for dementia or our learning disability respite and long term placements. Caroline and Laurie are here until 12 noon.

Wednesday 17th June- healthy me day- The Meadows, Dividy road Bentilee ST2 9JZ 1pm to 3pm
Friday 19th June- Affinity (freeport ) Talke 10am to 1pm
Saturday 20th June- Pride, Hanley park all day event.

Find out how to refer to our services and more about us, if you have an adult aged 18 or above that may need respite/ short breaks or even plan long term placement for learning disability or Adults with dementia for day opportunities.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Throughout the month we will be sharing content about consent, what s*xual assault is and support available.

So, what is s*xual assault?

Sexual assault is any act of unwanted s*xual contact (including kissing or touching).

This may involve one or more of the following:
⚠️ Pressure - this includes trying to convince someone to change their mind
⚠️ Manipulation - this includes saying things like "you would if you loved me"
⚠️ Intimidation - making people feel like they can't say no
⚠️ Threats - saying something bad will happen if they don't "agree" to s*x (e.g. threatening to break up, tell others, share images)
⚠️ Deception - this includes things like saying you’re taking contraception when you are not, or saying you'll use a condom and removing it during s*x
⚠️ Force - physically holding someone down or making it so they can't leave
