Recently, we received a beautiful card from Becky, who we've had the privilege of supporting as a young care leaver.

Becky has now started as a university student and is achieving wonderful things, but it was one particular message in her card that meant so much to us.

Among her kind words was a simple but powerful reminder: "Keep doing what you're doing because it truly matters." 🩷

Knowing that the support, encouragement and opportunities we provide can make a real difference in a young person's life is exactly why we do what we do.

We're incredibly proud of Becky and wish her every success for the future. 🙌

Both Lillian and Tina were delighted to attend the recent cheque presentation following this year's Knot A Sports Day fundraising event.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of everyone involved, a fantastic £11,000 was raised and shared between Symmetrical and several other local charities. 👏

A huge thank you to the organisers, participants, sponsors, and supporters who helped make this achievement possible.

At Symmetrical, this funding will be invaluable in helping us provide support, opportunities, and practical assistance to young care leavers across Staffordshire as they build their futures. 🩷💙

Staffordshire Knot Events

Ten local charities have received a share of £11,000 from the third Knot a Sports Day, at a presentation at University of Staffordshire.

We'd like to once again thank everyone who took part and made Staffordshire's largest team-building day unforgettable!

First up is Lillian, one of our Directors and the driving force behind Symmetrical. 🩵

Lillian was first elected as an independent local Councillor in 2015 and, just two years later, proudly served as the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent.

Passionate about supporting her local community, Lillian has dedicated her life to helping others. She continues to be a champion for the people of Dresden, where she has supported friends, neighbours, and local causes for over 50 years. 🩷

A generous donation for our female care leavers 🩷

We recently received a thoughtful donation from Lorna at Longton Elim Church - Living Springs who has kindly made 12 care packages containing feminine hygiene products, tissues, and other essential items.

With plans for many more care packages to be created in the future, we are incredibly grateful for Lorna's kindness, generosity, and commitment to supporting young people in our community.

We're thrilled to have been part of the National Literacy Trust Tales in the Park this summer, teaming up with two wonderful local charities dedicated to helping children and their families. 🩷

Tales in the Park is a fantastic free storytelling festival, hosted by the National Literacy Trust in Stoke-on-Trent, taking place in parks across the city, including Tunstall, Hanley, Fenton, Longton and Burslem, as well as Yeaman Street Rec. 📚
