As Christmas Day approaches, our hearts are full as we prepare to welcome our community together at Kidsgrove Town Hall. None of this would be possible without the incredible kindness around us.

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers who have given their time, energy and care to help make this day special, your generosity truly embodies the spirit of Christmas.

We are also deeply grateful to everyone who has donated, funded and supported this event. Your kindness means we can offer a warm, festive Christmas Day with food, laughter, companionship and a little magic for those who need it most.

Christmas can be a difficult time for many, and it’s the compassion of our community that makes all the difference. Thank you for helping us create connection, comfort and joy.

🎄 Join Our Community Christmas Team! 🎄

We’re looking for friendly hands and warm hearts to help make this year’s Community Christmas Day truly special!

If you can spare a little time between Monday 22nd and Thursday 26th December, we’d love to have you on board. There’s something for everyone — from setting up and decorating festive tables, to wrapping gifts, preparing food, and bringing Christmas cheer to our guests.

We’re also looking for around 7 extra volunteers for the BIG DAY itself to be Table Hosts or Kitchen Assistants. It’s a wonderful opportunity to share laughter, stories, and kindness with others who might otherwise be spending the day alone.

Last year’s volunteers made it an unforgettable event and many are already returning this year because it’s such a heart-warming experience. ❤️

🎄✨ Christmas Day 2025 – Funded Community Event ✨🎄

We’re delighted to confirm that this year’s Christmas Day celebration is fully funded and open for applications.

📌 Please call to complete this year’s Attendance Criteria Form.

Primary Focus
Our priority is to welcome individuals who would otherwise spend Christmas alone — those with no family, friends, or invitations for the day.

Financial & Social Hardship
Although the event is free to attend, it is funded. Places are intended for people who would genuinely struggle to afford a Christmas meal and company.

Fairness of Access
To make sure support reaches those most in need, priority will be given to first-time attendees or those in greater need. Attendance in previous years will not automatically guarantee a place this year.

✅ Attendance will only be confirmed once the criteria are met and a place is secured.
These guidelines ensure that community donations and volunteer efforts reach the people who need them most — those who might otherwise spend Christmas in isolation.

Great COMMUNITY pub. They have supported our Christmas Day Event for a couple of years now.

A community pub like ours, should be a safe space where people feel a sense of belonging ♥️ and us wolfies work hard to make sure this is the case.
We work hard within our community to ensure that our home feels just like your own. (Although you need to leave the pyjamas at yours 🤣)

We have run our Bisto table every Sunday for the last 4 years, the pub provides Sunday lunch and a drink to a table of 4 guests who would usually spend Sunday afternoon alone

For those wishing to attend and to ask questions of Church Lawton Parish Council please show up. Our council tax bills saw a rise of 53% in our payment to the Parish Council. The precept drawn down was also increased. Although they state at the bottom the Lawton Memorial Hall has a separate AGM in Autumn this is a public run (Church Lawton Parish Council are the Trustee) Community Hall. If you have any issues or just wish to see how your money is/isn’t being spent in the Parish this is the meeting to attend.

For those who are unaware Church Lawton Community Group was formed by Ken Newton, Linda Grimshaw and Bev Newton.

We are an unincorporated community group which is an organisation set up through an agreement between a group of people who come together for a reason other than to make a profit.
