Butterwick Hospice incorporates Butterwick Hospice in Stockton, Butterwick House Hospice for Babies, Children and Young Adults and Butterwick Hospice at Bishop Auckland. We provide pain and symptom control, end of life, respite, day and home care, complementary therapies, bereavement care and family support free of charge to children and adults. Butterwick Hospice serves the communities of Teesside, County Durham, North Yorkshire and Wearside.

💙 Butterwick Karting Challenge 2026 💙

Last week, we had an incredible day at our 3rd Annual Butterwick Karting Challenge! 🏎️

The atmosphere never disappoints, and this year was no exception, with plenty of friendly competition, team spirit, and strategic racing throughout the day!

Congratulations to Hewitson Plant Hire Ltd, our 2026 champions! 🏆
Our team, the Butterwick Blues secured second place 🥈 and well done to the Darchem Engineering Ltd Dodgers for taking the third 🥉

A huge thank you to LFF Group for sponsoring this year’s Karting Challenge. Your continued support and commitment to Butterwick Hospice helps us make events like this possible and supports the vital care we provide.

We would also like to thank The Odd Baron for capturing the excitement of the day on film 🎥

Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, we are delighted to share that the event raised just over £4,900 for Butterwick Hospice. Every pound raised will help us continue supporting local families when they need us most.

🕯️Join us for a Service Of Remembrance 🕯️

Join us for a special remembrance service as we come together to reflect, remember and celebrate the lives of our loved ones. 💙

The service will be led by Jim Wright of the North Tees Trust Friday 19th June at 2pm. It will provide a peaceful opportunity for remembrance within the chapel at Butterwick Hospice. Refreshments will be served following the service.

Tickets are free, but due to limited space, we have a capacity of 30 places for the service.

This , we want to say a huge thank you to our Corporate Volunteers!

Last week, Journey Enterprises joined us at our Bishop Auckland Hospice for their second visit to help us maintain our beautiful gardens 🌿🌺

Journey Enterprises are a person-centred organisation, who work alongside people with Learning Disabilities, supporting those individuals to develop skills for both work and at home, to keep fit, healthy and to meet new people within the community.

Our Volunteer Coordinator, Richard, shared, “We’re grateful to have a fantastic group of volunteers from Journey Enterprises give up their time to help tidy our gardens at our Bishop Auckland Hospice. Their contribution means so much to us and to everyone who visits here. It’s been great to see everyone getting stuck in, sharing plenty of smiles, and enjoying the experience together. Their support has made a real difference, and we can’t thank them enough.”
