Butterwick Hospice incorporates Butterwick Hospice in Stockton, Butterwick House Hospice for Babies, Children and Young Adults and Butterwick Hospice at Bishop Auckland. We provide pain and symptom control, end of life, respite, day and home care, complementary therapies, bereavement care and family support free of charge to children and adults. Butterwick Hospice serves the communities of Teesside, County Durham, North Yorkshire and Wearside.

🚴‍♀️Not long to go now until the Big Butterwick Bike Ride! 🚴‍♂️

Join us for the 23rd Annual Big Butterwick Bike Ride on 27th September and take on our scenic 22-mile route around Bishop Auckland and Stockton while raising vital funds for Butterwick Hospice. 💙

Entry is just £10 when booked online, and we ask each rider to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship.
As a thank you, everyone who reaches their fundraising target will receive a FREE Butterwick t-shirt! 👕

The first 20 people who raise £150 will receive a dominos voucher! 🍕

Whether you're an experienced cyclist or simply looking for a new challenge, every mile you ride will help us continue providing specialist care and support to local families.

Today is National Grief Awareness Day 💙

We asked our wonderful counsellor Karen Robinson, to explain what grief is and how Butterwick Hospice can help those dealing with it.

Our counsellors can offer support and understanding and can help explore some concerns with things such as:

💙Adjustment to living with cancer or other progressive illness
💙Issues of loss related to health and physical changes
💙Managing stress due to treatment and disruption to normal life
💙Fears about the future
