💙Child Safety Week - Water Safety Matters💙
With the recent spell of warm weather, this we're encouraging everyone to take a few steps to keep safe around water.
Many neurodivergent children and young people can be drawn to water due to it's sensory nature, which is why we wanted to highlight the dangers.
🌊Always supervise your children closely around water, no matter how shallow
🌊Teach children about water safety and where it is safe to swim
🌊Rehearse water safety rules often
🌊Avoid distractions like mobile phones when supervising
🌊Make sure children wear appropriate flotation devices where needed
🌊Know what to do in an emergency and call 999 if someone is in trouble
Whether you have a paddling pool in your garden or are visiting the beach or lake - a little extra vigilance can save lives. Please share this message and help raise awareness during Child Safety Week and beyond. Head to Child Accident Prevention Trust for more safety tips.
