Residents at our Aspen Gardens scheme enjoyed getting crafty this week 🪴

Fantastic work from our Older Persons team and Tees Valley Wildlife Trust to organise this lovely intergenerational activity for the benefit of our residents. They had a fantastic afternoon making bird feeders and decorating plant pots with the children!

Could you be a carer?

Many people don’t think of themselves as carers.

You might be caring for a parent, partner, child, friend or neighbour without realising that support is available to you, too.

You may be a carer if you regularly help someone with:

Personal care
Shopping or household tasks
Managing medication
Attending appointments
Emotional support
Finances or paperwork

If this sounds familiar, find out what support is available:

We’re here for unpaid carers with expert information, advice and support and also campaign to make life better for carers.

National Carers Week starts tomorrow 💙

Across our communities, thousands of people provide unpaid care for a loved one, often alongside work, family life and other responsibilities.

National Carers Week shines a light on the important role carers play and helps people access support.

If you think you may be a carer, support is available.

This year’s theme is Building Carer Friendly Communities. Throughout the week, activities are taking place across Teesside, including information stands, carers’ coffee mornings and more.

See the poster below or find out more about the events here: https://wecareyoucare.info/campaigns/carers-week-2026
