We are an award-winning, MEMBER-LED charity for autistic adults. We were led by their ideas and needs for access to social activities.

Our aim is to provide person-centred support in collaborative, unique and innovative ways

📍 Office Hours: Mon to Fri, 9-5 | 🛍️ Angels Shop Hours: Mon & Fri, 10-2 Autism Matters was created, together with Autistic adults and staff who they trusted and chose to support them. First service we created was our social support groups. Then came our short breaks, then we added our 1-2-1 PA support service. We now have additional support with work experience, called Autism Angels, and a therapy service.

This week's Moments That Matter is all about: Inclusion 🧡

Our Sunday Adventure session last week headed to Spillman's Farm for some seasonal fun! 🎃

At Autism Matters, our Social Groups are about so much more than the activities we do. They're about creating welcoming spaces where autistic adults can be themselves, spend time with others and enjoy being part of something, without the pressure to fit in or pretend to be someone they're not.

From exploring new places to trying different activities and spending time with friends, our Sunday sessions give members the chance to get out and about, experience more of what our local area has to offer and make memories along the way. Everyone has their own interests, preferences and ways of getting involved, and that's exactly how it should be ❤️

Because everyone deserves to feel included, to have things to look forward to and to find their own place where they feel comfortable being themselves.

And it looks like Spillman's Farm gave our members plenty to get into the Halloween spirit about! 🍂

September has been full of fun, friendship and plenty of opportunities to get out there and enjoy everything life has to offer! ❤️

It’s been another brilliant month across our PA and Social Group Services, with our members making the most of a whole host of activities, experiences and time spent together. From catching up with familiar faces and enjoying favourite activities to trying something new and making memories along the way, our Social Groups have had plenty going on! 🥰

Our PA Service has also been making the most of every opportunity, supporting members to enjoy the things that matter to them, explore their interests, get out into the community and spend time doing what they love. Whether it’s enjoying a favourite pastime, discovering somewhere new or simply having a good catch-up, it’s all about making time for the things that bring people joy ✨

At Autism Matters, we believe autistic adults deserve the freedom, opportunities and support to live life on their own terms. Whether that means finding your people, building friendships, exploring new interests or enjoying the things that make you you, we’re here to help make it happen. Because everyone deserves to feel they belong, be themselves and have a life full of the things that matter to them ❤️

This week's Moments That Matter is all about: Enjoyment 🎃

Spooky season is here, and Amy has been getting into the Halloween spirit with her PA, Bev, on a recent trip to Cherry Hill! 🍂

Our PA service is about getting to know the person, what they enjoy and what they want to get out of life. It's about having someone alongside you who understands your interests and helps you get out there and enjoy them 🤝

Whether it's a trip to a Halloween event, a visit to a favourite place, getting out for a walk or spending time doing something you love, our support is built around the individual. It's about making those things happen, trying new experiences when you fancy it and having the freedom to spend your time doing what makes you happy.

Everyone deserves the chance to enjoy themselves, make their own choices and get out there doing the things they love ❤️

And from the looks of this photo, Amy and Bev certainly enjoyed themselves and got into the spooky spirit! 🤣

Day 7 in Singapore with Autism Matters 🇸🇬

And just like that, the final day in Singapore arrived!
After breakfast at the hotel, the group packed up their cases, left them safely at the hotel and headed back out for one final day of exploring the city 🏙️

First stop was the Merlion, where they got those all-important iconic Singapore pictures before heading over to Marina Bay Sands. They made their way up to the observation deck, where they enjoyed a drink and took in some incredible views across the city. It was the perfect spot for some final photos too! 📸

Then it was time for one last Singaporean lunch at Lau Pa Sat Hawker Centre. After spending the week trying so many different foods, it was only right to finish their final day with another proper hawker centre experience 🥢

From there, they headed back to the hotel for their transfer to the airport. Luckily, they were able to take advantage of early check-in, giving them plenty of time to explore Jewel Changi Airport before their flight.

And, well... perhaps the early check-in was dangerous for the bank balance! There were plenty of gifts and souvenirs to be bought, and the group certainly made the most of the shops! 🛍️

Before heading to Terminal 1 for the long flight home, they stopped for one final meal, an Italian feast of pizza and pasta, before it was time to board ✈️

And that brings an incredible Singapore adventure to an end. Seven days packed with new experiences, incredible places, amazing food, plenty of laughs and memories that will last a lifetime ❤️

Day 6 in Singapore with Autism Matters 🇸🇬

An earlier start today meant breakfast on the go, with the lads opting for a McDonald’s breakfast while the girls went for pastries and coffee ☕

Then it was time to grab a taxi and head to Singapore Zoo for a full day of exploring. And what an experience it was! The group got to see so many incredible animals, with one of the biggest highlights being a red panda sitting in a branch right above their heads 🐾

The pandas were another big favourite, along with the manatees, but honestly, every animal they came across felt pretty special. There was so much to see and discover throughout the day, and plenty of time to enjoy the experience together 🐼

They stopped for lunch and tea within the zoo too, making a full day of it before moving on to the very different experience of the Night Safari 🌙

First came the tram ride through the park, followed by the four walking trails, giving the group the chance to see the animals in a completely different setting. One of the highlights was spotting three Tasmanian devils, which was certainly something not everyone gets to see!

After a very full day, it was time to grab a taxi back to the hotel. Everyone was tired, but there was still time for one last drink together to celebrate their final evening in Singapore🍹

They may have been absolutely exhausted, but they were very happy after another incredible day and an unforgettable short break so far.

Tomorrow it’s time to start the journey home... ✈️

Day 5 in Singapore with Autism Matters 🇸🇬

After four busy days of exploring, Day 5 started with a little bit of extra sleep, with everyone enjoying an extra hour in bed before heading out for the day 😴

The group headed to Orchard Road for brunch, where everyone chose a different breakfast from around the world. There was certainly plenty of choice, and it was another chance to try something a little different! 🍳

Then it was time for some serious shopping! Orchard Road is packed with shopping centres, one after another, so there was plenty to explore. The group found some fantastic shops and picked up souvenirs, as well as a few Christmas presents to bring home. They even came across another F1 stand, where Nathan had the chance to take on the Singapore circuit himself on the PS5! 🛍️

Next stop was the top of ION SkyPark, where they enjoyed a drink while taking in the incredible views across Singapore from above 🌆

After walking back to the hotel for a little rest, it was time to head back out again, this time to the Singapore Flyer. The huge observation wheel gave them another spectacular view of the city, this time from even higher up 🎡

For their evening meal, the group went to the food hall across the Helix Bridge, enjoying another selection of food before calling it a night. By this point, everyone was definitely ready for bed! An early night was very much needed ahead of tomorrow’s full zoo experience 🐼

Day 4 in Singapore with Autism Matters 🇸🇬

The day started with breakfast at the hotel before the group grabbed a taxi and headed to VivoCity, the huge shopping centre which also marks the gateway to Sentosa Island. And from there, it was time to step into the wonderful world of Universal Studios Singapore! 🎬

Wow... what a day! The group managed to get on almost every ride that was open, making the most of every minute in the park. Despite the forecast predicting rain, they somehow managed another completely dry day, so there was nothing stopping them from getting stuck into the rides! 🎢

Everyone braved plenty of rides throughout the day, including Nathan, who was visiting Universal Studios for the very first time. His favourite was the Grey Track on Battlestar Galactica, a seriously intense ride that takes you upside down, inside out and all over the place! Only Anna and Nathan were brave enough to take that one on 🫣

Halfway through the day, the group stopped for some well-earned and very yummy burgers before getting back to exploring 🍔

Then it was time to head towards the beach on Sentosa Island, where Nathan and Daniel had booked themselves onto a zipwire. The pair took on the challenge and flew across the sea, landing on a little island! What an incredible experience, and what a brave thing to do! 🪂👏

Afterwards, they stopped for some much-needed cool drinks before Nathan and Daniel took on the Mario Kart rides too 🏎️

The day finished back at VivoCity with another visit to the food hall for a proper Singaporean hawker centre experience. With so many different food choices all under one roof, there was plenty to choose from after such a busy day 🥢

Another absolutely amazing day in Singapore, filled with big rides, new experiences, plenty of laughs and some seriously brave moments! ❤️
