⚽ A special day for Shoemaker Place resident Keith! ❤️🤍

Lifelong Stoke City FC fan Keith had his wish come true this week with a behind-the-scenes tour of the club, kindly organised by Stoke City’s Customer Experience Team.

From visiting the boardroom and changing rooms to braving the Stoke weather and sitting in the dugouts, Keith enjoyed every moment. To make the day even more special, he was invited to attend a Stoke City match of his choice next season – an offer he was delighted to accept!

The visit was made possible through Borough Care’s Resident Wishes Programme, which helps create meaningful experiences for our residents.

A huge thank you to Sharon Parkes for organising the trip, Tom from Shoemaker Place for accompanying Keith, and especially Anthony and Courtney at Stoke City FC for making the day so memorable.

We’re already looking forward to next season, when plenty of our Staffordshire residents will be cheering on the Potters!

What a fantastic and busy day we’ve had at Borough Care! 🎬✨
We’ve been filming more content for our website, with our wonderful residents and colleagues taking centre stage.

The day began at Reinbek, where we enjoyed some time in the gardens and were delighted to welcome William and Snowy from Simply Shetlands. The residents loved meeting the ponies and spoiling them with plenty of treats!

At Bruce Lodge, residents enjoyed a wonderful guitar and vocal performance from Gordon, followed by a visit from everyone’s favourite ice cream van. There were plenty of smiles, sprinkles and even a few residents trying their hand at serving their own ice cream! 🍦

A huge thank you to all our colleagues at Reinbek and Bruce Lodge for their help today. It’s fair to say some of you have definitely missed your calling and belong in front of the camera! ⭐

Thank you also to Simply Shetlands, Austin’s Ices and of course Northern Spark Productions Limited for helping us capture another fabulous day at Borough Care. We can’t wait to see the finished footage!

Did you know that a group of frogs is called an army? 🐸
If you knew that, you would have been a valuable addition to one of the teams at Shoemaker Place’s Family Quiz Night last night!
We were delighted to welcome so many relatives to join our residents for an evening of friendly competition, laughter and plenty of brain-teasing questions. With a variety of quiz rounds and a hamper packed full of treats up for grabs, there was everything to play for!
And as if that wasn’t enough, with National Fish and Chip Day taking place tomorrow, we took the opportunity to enjoy one of the nation’s favourite meals a little early. After all, we never need much of an excuse for a chippy tea! 🍟🐟
It was a wonderful evening filled with good food, great company and lots of smiles. A huge thank you to our colleagues for organising such a fantastic event and to all the relatives who came along to support, participate and spend the evening with us.

🤠🎶 Yeehaw! Last week, our Staffordshire homes came together once again in Wetley Rocks for another fantastic tea dance!

Residents from Hen Cloud House in Leek and Shoemaker Place in Stone, along with their family members, donned their cowboy hats and enjoyed a wonderful country and western-themed afternoon filled with great company, delicious food, and plenty of entertainment.

The afternoon got off to a brilliant start with Borough Care’s very own Vince performing a selection of country classics, before country duo Big Skies took to the stage and kept everyone singing along. There was plenty of toe-tapping, line dancing, and smiles all round as residents and relatives enjoyed the music together.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make it another lovely afternoon. We can’t wait for the next one! 💃🕺⭐

🍕 Earlier this week, residents at Bamford Close donned their aprons and chefs’ hats as they had a go at creating their very own pizzas!
From choosing toppings to adding the finishing touches, everyone had lots of fun getting creative in the kitchen — and of course, enjoying a tasty slice afterwards! 😋
Activities like these are a great way to bring people together, spark memories, and try something new.
Well done to all of our wonderful pizza chefs! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Last week, residents across Borough Care came together to celebrate VE Day and mark the occasion in a variety of special ways.
From tea parties (with plenty of cake, of course! 🍰), to live singers, music, dancing and creative activities, each home enjoyed taking time to reflect, remember and celebrate together.
It was wonderful to see residents, families and teams sharing stories, laughter and community spirit throughout the day. ❤️

Earlier this week, two of our colleagues, Jade Martin and Lindsay Hadfield, attended a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.

Jade and Lindsay were invited in recognition of the incredible work they have done in helping Silverdale achieve the Veteran Friendly Framework — an achievement that reflects their passion, dedication, and commitment to supporting veterans within our community.

The invitation to Borough Care was extended through the National Care Forum to recognise colleagues making a meaningful difference in social care, and we are so proud to see Jade and Lindsay celebrated in this way.

The event was made even more special with the attendance of King Charles, Queen Camilla and Anne, Princess Royal.

A truly unforgettable and well-deserved experience for two fantastic colleagues. Congratulations to you both from everyone at Borough Care.

This afternoon, Shepley House welcomed some very special visitors 🐾🐍

Our residents had a wonderful time meeting a variety of furry and scaly friends as part of an animal therapy session. From gentle strokes to curious conversations, it was heartwarming to see so many smiles and such positive engagement throughout the home.

These meaningful interactions bring comfort, joy, and plenty of excitement — a lovely afternoon for everyone involved.

At Shoemaker Place, we love finding meaningful ways to bring joy, connection, and enrichment to those in our care.

To celebrate World Earth Day 🌍, we welcomed the lovely pupils from , along with Nanette from Vale Royal Falconry and her beautiful owls. 🦉

There were smiles all around as residents, pupils, and visitors gently stroked the owls — and some even held a Little Owl! A truly magical moment.

Experiences like this are so important, bringing generations together, sparking conversation and creating shared happiness. It was wonderful to see everyone connecting and enjoying something so special.

A big thank you to Vale Royal Falconry and Yarlett School for such a memorable morning.

🥁 Making music at Cawood House! 🎶
Residents at Cawood House recently tried something a little different as they had a go at African drumming—and what a fantastic time they had!
There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and a few impressive rhythms too. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, trying something new, and enjoying the uplifting power of music together.
Who knew we had so many talented drummers in the Borough Care family?
