We are currently working to take it off-grid to the greatest extent possible for an urban setting. The site will soon be available for hire for yoga classes and therapies. The services we can offer are:
Permaculture, landscaping, ecology and sustainability - Not only do we have experts on site, we have strong links to projects, groups and experts in several different countries across 4 continents. We can do work from the small - garden maintenance, to the large - producing wildlife refuges, endemic biome regeneration or helping families or communities come off grid altogether. Building work - As well as on-site staff, we have a cadre of builders associated to the project that can do jobs from decorating jobs, cabinet making and plastering up to full house conversions and rebuilds. The on-site staff have experience of eco-building in several different countries and close alliance with individuals and organisations of international renown for sustainable energy production and eco-building techniques. On site is also a nutritionist and nutritional therapist: A vegan chef that has been headhunted by projects, cafes and organisations on 2 different continents. Whether it is a lifestyle choice or a medical necessity requiring tailor-made diets, the knowledge and experience are there. (on a personal note - YUM!)
Miscellaneously, there are a bunch of other aspects to the project. The emphasis is on community. A community requires more than just food, shelter, energy and water. A community requires bonds. Personal bonds have changed as we start to invest more of our thought, effort and emotions in the virtual nexus of social media etc. This has lead to people becoming more isolated, disempowering them and empowering control paradigms further still. We endeavor to bring the social aspect into the project too. As such, the project is open 24/7 to anyone seeking refuge, help, a bed for the night, a meal or just some company. Everyone has a talent and we invite everyone to come and showcase theirs (or for the meek - to allow it to be encouraged forth). We have links with scholars, writers, circus performers, musicians and journalists from around the world who can foster talent. We have links to projects across the uk, europe and the middle east. We have a sister site in St. So helping people into voluntary work placements to further their education or simply satiate their curiosity is also something we can offer.
