This week our Scouts got seriously creative as they worked towards their Crafts Activity badge. 🎨

Using pyrography tools, they carefully burned designs into wood πŸ”₯πŸͺ΅

And with winter drawing in, our Scouts crafted their own lanterns to light up the darker evenings πŸ•―οΈβœ¨

It was brilliant to see teamwork, patience and imagination shining through. We’re so proud of what they created!

This week, our Cubs got creative with their engineering skills β€” building structures using pencils, paper cups, string and plenty of imagination! πŸ”§πŸͺ΅βœοΈ

From steady frames to clever balancing, they worked together brilliantly to problem-solve, test ideas and adapt their designs. Amazing teamwork, determination and lots of fun along the way! πŸ’‘πŸ’ͺ

We love seeing what they can achieve with simple materials and big ideas.

This week, our brilliant Beavers tackled rock climbing at The Ridge, Marple β€” and what an evening it was! πŸ§—β€β™‚οΈ

Huge thank you to the amazing instructors for their support and encouragement. 🌟

And a massive well done to our fearless (and sometimes slightly nervous!) Beavers who gave it their all and even conquered a few fears along the way.

Proud is an understatement! πŸ‘πŸ’š

Today our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Sett Valley Explorers came together to commemorate Remembrance Day services at both New Mills and Hayfield.

We are incredibly proud of the respect, pride and maturity shown by all our young people as they honoured those who gave so much for our freedom.

We will remember them.

Tonight our Beavers learnt all about Diwali – the Festival of Lights! 🌟

We played a fun game of bingo (with sweets as prizes 🍬), created beautiful stained glass windows, and shone torches behind them to see the colours glow! πŸŽ¨πŸ”¦

To finish, we tasted some traditional Diwali sweets – a big hit all round! πŸ˜‹

Tonight, our Beavers welcomed Katy, a volunteer from Helping Hands Food Bank.

They learned all about how donations are sorted, checked, and shared with those in need β€” and how volunteers make it all happen!

Each Beaver brought along items such as long-life milk and tins to donate πŸ₯«πŸ₯›, showing amazing kindness and community spirit. ❀️

We finished the evening with a log chew about other ways people volunteer and help in our community β€” what thoughtful ideas they had! 🌍✨

This week’s Beavers session was brilliantly led by our Young Leaders from !

Badger kicked things off by helping the Beavers find their pulse, before moving on to a fun dice game 🎲 and a lively team relay race. They then played the β€œwake up with alarm” game β€” everyone lay down and had to jump into action, pretending to brush their teeth, have a wash, and get dressed (necker and shoes included!).

After all the excitement, the Beavers checked their pulse again to see the difference. Badger then introduced the healthy eating chart, and everyone got to taste a variety of healthy snacks β€” watermelon, apple, banana, cucumber, carrot, red, yellow, and green peppers. πŸ‰πŸŽπŸ₯’
