🎵 Meet Maria-Theresa Miles - Day 1 🎵

I proudly served in both the RAF and the Army during the 1990s. Although I left the RAF due to pregnancy and the regulations at the time, military service remained a huge part of my identity. Once my children were older, I rejoined through the Army.

Looking back, my military journey shaped my resilience, determination, and sense of community. Little did I know that years later, another community would have just as much impact on my life.

That community was Phoenix Veterans Choir.

PROJECT RECCE – OPERATION STAND TO 🇬🇧

Project RECCE was formed in 2018 with a simple purpose: to help veterans and service leavers build successful civilian lives.

Since then, a remarkable number of people have given their time, experience, contacts and support to help us do exactly that.

Today we hold an important Ambassador meeting to discuss the next chapter.

Operation STAND TO is our call to action.

We want to mobilise the extraordinary pool of experience within the Project RECCE community and turn it into action.

Make an introduction. Open a door. Find an employer. Identify an opportunity. Mentor someone. Raise awareness. Bring an idea.

Nobody has to do everything — but everybody can do something.

Our ambition is also clear: Project RECCE should increasingly be veteran-led and veteran-delivered — veterans supporting veterans, backed by civilians, businesses and supporters who believe in what we are trying to achieve.

We already have some exciting initiatives developing, including Project Comedy, and there is plenty more we want to build.

Morning all,

A slightly different call from Project RECCE today.

Many of you in this group have been through RECCE, supported by RECCE, or simply been part of the journey.

We’re now asking whether a few of you might be in a position to pay it forward.

That doesn’t mean money.

It could be your experience, an idea, a contact, an introduction, an opportunity — or simply sharing what worked for you and what we could do better for the next veteran coming through the door.

We’re holding our next Project RECCE Ambassadors’ Meeting on Friday 18th September at 13:00 and we’d like to open the invitation to any beneficiaries who feel they can contribute to the next chapter.

No obligation whatsoever. If RECCE helped you at the right time and you’re now in a position to help someone following behind you, we’d be very pleased to have you around the table.

One idea. One contact. One opportunity.

Sometimes that’s all it takes to make a difference to the next person.

Evening all,

As Father’s Day comes to a close, many of us will be spending time with family and reflecting on the people who have shaped us, the ones we love, the ones we miss, and the responsibilities we carry every day.

It’s also a powerful reminder that behind every name in this group is a story. Some are stepping into new careers. Some are building businesses from the ground up. Some are carrying the weight of supporting families. Others are facing battles that few people ever see.

RECCE was built on values, standards, and a commitment to one another. That commitment matters most when life gets difficult.

If you’re in a position to help, whether through employment opportunities, business connections, mentoring, advice, or simply opening a door for someone, please do. Never underestimate the impact of a single conversation, introduction, or act of support. Small actions can change the course of a life.

Equally, if you’re struggling with work, finances, family life, or your own wellbeing, reach out. Asking for support is not a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of courage.
The strongest communities are not built by people who never need help; they are built by people who stand together when help is needed most.

Over the next 24 hours, take one deliberate action. Contact someone from this group or your wider circle. Don’t just scroll past, like a post, or leave a quick comment. Send the message. Make the call. Arrange the coffee. Ask the extra question. Listen with intent. Give someone the opportunity to be honest about how they’re really doing. If a particular person came to mind while reading this, trust that instinct and reach out before this time tomorrow.

We all have the ability to make a difference in someone’s day, and sometimes in their life. Let’s be the kind of community that shows up, checks in, and looks out for one another.

Look after yourselves, and look after each other.

Nobody gets left behind.
