HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT ATTENDING THE PRAGUE CONVENTION IN 2027?

We are pleased to have Mariet Verhoef-Cohen, Convention Chair of the Soroptimist International Global Convention 2027 to be held in Prague, joining us in Cardiff.

Mariet, former President of Soroptimist International 2017-2019 will be sharing exciting news about what’s being organised in Prague. Under the theme “Stronger Together for all Women and Girls”, the Convention will bring our global community together.

1,572 projects, 167,858 women and girls supported, 93,181 volunteer hours, and £458,947 raised — what a year for Soroptimists across our Federation.

These results from our 2025-2026 annual report demonstrate the extraordinary power of collective action. When we get together for our annual conference later this month, we'll have plenty to celebrate and build on.

HOW MUCH DO YOU KNOW ABOUT HPV AND CERVICAL CANCER?

Since January 2024, Cathy Cottridge, a Past SIGBI President has been leading SIGBI’s campaign to raise awareness of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) in relation to cervical cancer and the vital importance of improving uptake of the UK’s cervical screening and HPV vaccination programmes.

In December 2024, she was appointed as a Director on the Soroptimist International Board and is now Chair of the SI Foundation.

Come and hear Cathy speak on Friday afternoon.

COME AND ENJOY THE MUSIC!

The fabulous Sophie Evans, Welsh singer and actress will be providing entertainment on the Friday afternoon of our Cardiff Conference.

Sophie, from Tonypandy, South Wales first came to national attention as the runner-up on the BBC’s Over the Rainbow in 2010, before making her West End debut as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. She is best known as Glenda in Wicked, a role she performed over 750 times at the Apollo Victoria, London. Alongside her theatre work, Sophie has appeared in concerts, television, and film, and recorded 3 albums. Sophie also performs with the Welsh supergroup Welsh of the West End.
