Sending a big thank you to Manchester Occupational Therapy Services Ltd for lending us Matt and James this summer.

They both worked really hard from helping us set up in the morning to engaging with adults and children throughout the day and putting items away at the end.

Both were adored by some of our younger visitors who really took a shine to them. Thank you guys, you were ace.

Pictures from last Friday.

Sand art, outdoor games, indoor crafts, Chessmaster, Finn adventures, lots of smiles and a deluge of rain!

It was a day full of quiet moments, excited squeals, proud show and tell, chatter and contentment.

The rain created a beautiful memory in the form of a "puddling pool" (honestly the puddle was huge!) Several kids ran out after the rain stopped and jumped straight in. We all paused for a moment, grinning from ear to ear, watching the pure joy and listening to the laughter.

What a special way to end the summer.

We are open again this Friday from 10 am - 2 pm albeit a slightly calmer and quieter affair!

This summer we were powered by volunteers! Everyone played their part and we are truly grateful.

Our summer school holiday programme finished yesterday.

We hope everyone had a great time with us this summer. There are lots of stories and pictures to share over the next few days including the "puddling pool" that appeared after the unexpected deluge of rain!

But today we just want to say thank you to these 4 amazing ladies who make up our leadership team. They spent months organising, planning, getting grants and more before we even got to August.

Well done to (left to right) Rachel, Pam, Katy and Anna. Friendly Fridays was buzzing and we had lots of very grateful thank you messages from children and adults. You did good! Providing a space for around 180 adults and kids every Friday with food and activities for free. Thank you for all your hard work.

Friendly Fridays continues next Friday 10 am - 2 pm. At Rose Walker Community cente, Essex Avenue SK3 0JA. The team are organising pizza for lunch next Friday! đŸ˜‹

We are still planning on being mainly outside today. Weather reports and radar maps show that most of the heavy rain will pass us by. Light showers expected 15-20 mins at the most! In fact most reports have 0.0 mm of rain at midday which is lunch time.

Our advice is to be rain ready. Make sure yourself and anyone with you has suitable clothing. The gazebos we use are waterproof and will provide cover from light rain. But it's likely we may get a little wet today.

Note about our inside space: for fire and safety regulations we have a limited number of people we can admit into the community centre at any given time. Unfortunately, that means not everyone will be able to get inside if we suddenly experience a down pour!

Last week at Friendly Fridays we had over 180 adults and children enjoying our mini forest school activities, archery, outdoor games and indoor crafts.

Our resident Cribbage master was given some stunning gold cards! We ate lunch together and enjoyed ice cold treats and sweets later.

This Friday will be our last one of the Summer Programme and we have lots of fun stuff planned.

Come and join us at The Rose Walker Community Centre Essex Avenue SK3 0JA between 10 am and 2 pm. Everything is FREE tuck shop with snacks and drinks and a packed lunch at midday.

The only thing we ask is that children (under 18) and vulnerable adults have to be accompanied by a suitable and supervising adult. Our team of volunteers is amazing keeping everything running but we don't offer a drop off service, you will need to keep an eye on children and vulnerable adults.

We look forward to seeing you. Fingers crossed the rain stays away!
