ETOB Creative is a small workshop specialising in creating and upcycling bespoke functional and decorative pieces.

ETOB Creative is a small workshop that specialises in creating bespoke functional and decorative pieces using, mainly, wood. Other materials are sometimes used - if inspiration strikes! The main ethos is to cut waste wherever possible and utilise reclaimed wood and materials, that otherwise may have been discarded, to produce new and innovative decorative and/or functional items that can live again. All pieces are handmade and finished to produce an item that can adorn any surrounding, be it a home, workplace, workshop, man cave, lady lair, or vehicle! The choice of home for the, sometimes unique, piece is open to the imagination of the buyer and their fancies, whims and taste.

BEECH SALT AND CHERRY PEPPER CRANK TOP GRINDERS.
A turned pair of Crank Top condiment grinders. The pepper is turned from Cherry, the salt is turned from Beech.
They stand 9cm high (3.5 inches) are 4.5cm at the base and top (1.75 inches) and 5cm in the middle(2 inches).
Turned to match from wood that indicates their contents, the screw tops also have the 'P' and 'S' engraved on them.
The detailing has been achieved by burning with a pyrography pen and, originally, was meant to suggest two wh***ey barrels - BUT...
It's been suggested that, from a distance, they could resemble hand grenades!!!
Now that you have THAT thought in your head, it's very difficult for me to persuade you otherwise.
So - if you like seasoning on your food, and collect whiskies - or war memorabilia - these are for you.
They have been left untreated except for a food safe oil on the outside.
The crank top mechanisms are premium and that, and the work put into them, is reflected in the price.

JATOBA BOWL
This is a beautiful wood, also called Brazilian Cherry. It's very hard (supposedly four times harder than Oak) and takes time to turn as tools blunt fairly quickly. But the results are stunning.
This particular piece measures 14.5cm wide (5.75 inches) and stands 4.5cm high (1.75 inches). It's a fairly dense, heavy wood as well so feels quite a solid bowl. It's been sanded smoothly and then been polished and waxed. It would make a nice ornament or a practical bowl for items.
Its price reflects the quality of the wood and the time spent to bring it to this shape.

LARGE YEW CANDLE HOLDER
This is quite a solid piece of Yew, turned and shaped into a 'Classic Greek' shape.
It stands 24cm high (9.5 inches), is 10cm across the base (4 inches), and the brass plate candle holder measures 8cm across (just over 3 inches). And it weighs 1.2 kilograms (1.6kg with the luxury ch*****ne coloured candle).
It's been treated with Beeswax Oil and looks gorgeous.
It would probably suit a more traditional style of home décor and taste although it wouldn't look out of place in a modern setting because of the deep grain and finish. Yew, like Oak, is known for its splits and cracks (known as 'shakes'). This piece has been stabilised but - depending upon the environment in which it's kept - may still move slightly and and develop further shakes. Depending upon your tastes and aesthetic appreciation, this could enhance the piece.
It's a beautiful piece of wood and the price reflects the outlay, work and finishing.

CHIP 'N' DIP BOWL
A chip 'n' dip bowl - perfect for relaxing in front of the Cathode Ray Tube (ask your granny) whilst waiting for it to warm up so you can take in the perfect comedy timing of Watch With Mother.
These bowls can be coloured, as in the photos, or left plain - and can be made from various species of wood, except (obviously) those classed as 'toxic for food use'. That was a lesson learned the hard way!!
This particular one is turned from Beech and measures:
Width - 24cm (9.5 inches).
Internal width 23cm (9 inches).
Depth 4cm (1.75 inches).
£18 - £25 (depending on wood type - and crisps are extra)

OAK PLINTH
A commissioned job for a customer. An Oak Plinth for displaying a piece of memorabilia from their past. The customer is going to supply a small brass plaque to fit to the (sloped) front.
It's a simple job from a favourite species of wood - English Oak.
It's been sanded smooth and finished with Danish Oil.
It's 33cm (13 inches)long, 22cm (8.75 inches) deep and the full display height is 4cm (1.5 inches).
PRICELESS!

A simple shape that would probably suit a more modern setting, they have been left untreated except for a food safe wax on the outside.

OAK ANTIQUE BRASS RING BOX
Yes - size DOES matter when it comes to your family jewels!
A piece of old oak turned into a small ring box. Perfect for a presentation box or to hold a precious keepsake.
This was turned from an old, well-grained, piece of Oak. It was quite a small piece of Oak but was heavy and dense. Perfect for a small, special, project. Then I got the small, antique brass, hinge which has a beautiful Celtic Knot engraving.
It measures just 5cm in height (2 inches) and is 4cm wide (1.5 inches). Internally, it's 3cm across (1.25 inches) and the depth is 2.5cm (1 inch)- 3.5cm (just under 1.5 inches) total when the lid is closed. A small, exquisite, piece.

SMALL ASH NATURAL EDGE COLOURED BOWL
This is quite a small bowl that's been turned to leave the bark around the edges to give it a natural look.
It's been lightly coloured with Spirit Stains to give it a red/orange/green hue.
It's made from Ash and is 11cm long (4.25 inches),10cm wide (4 inches), and is 5cm (2 inches) high at the ends and 3cm (1.25) inches) high at the lowest edges.
The wood had a split near one end, originally (as seen in the photos), but it has been filled and stabilised and now looks 'rustic'. But I know some people might not appreciate what they see as a 'flaw' - hence the price.

DESK TIDY 'SKELETON' PENCIL POT
This is turned from Oak and is quite a 'modern' style - with blackened metal 'legs' supporting the top and a decorative blackened line burnt into the base and top.
It's being sold as a 'second' because the Oak edge is very close to one of the legs so looks like it's 'chipped', although it isn't. It's on the top 'ring', so can't be seen, really, in most ways in which it's positioned. But, it's not perfect - hence the price.
It's 12cm high (4.75 inches), 10cm in total across (4 inches), and has a total internal width of 7cm (2.75 inches) so will take quite a few pens and pencils.
A nice, cheap, addition to your desk as you work from home - and show it off on those Zoom meetings!
