Details of our films for the Winter/Spring 2026 Season will be coming soon but in the meantime here is a reminder of our December films screening at Stockbridge Town Hall.

Weds 3 December - Van Gogh: Poets and Lovers (12A) at 5pm and 7.30pm
A century after acquiring its first Van Gogh works, the National Gallery hosted the UK's biggest-ever Van Gogh exhibition. This film is a chance to reexamine and better understand this iconic artist. Focusing on his unique creative process, the film explores the artist's years in the south of France, where he revolutionised his style. If you missed the ground-breaking exhibition in 2024/25 then this is your chance to catch it. If you visited the exhibition it is an opportunity to be reminded of it and to learn more about the story behind the paintings on show.

Weds 10 December - The Salt Path (12A) at 4.45pm and 7.30pm
Based on the controversial memoir by Raynor Winn, this is the story of how she and her ailing husband Moth (played by Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs) set out on a 630-mile trek along the Cornish, Devon and Dorset coastline. After being evicted from their home, they make the desperate decision to walk in the
hope that, in nature, they will find solace and a sense of acceptance. With depleted resources, only a tent and some essentials between them, every step along the path is a testament to their growing strength and determination.

The film won the 2025 Oscar and a Golden Globe BAFTA award for best animated film as well as nominations for a BAFTA and Cannes Film Festival award.

Critics have said about it “A movie brimming with sentiment but not sentimentality, this is one of the most moving animated films in recent memory, and, beyond that, groundbreaking too.” IndieWire

“Flow is a joy to experience but also a deeply affecting story, the work of a unique talent who deserves to be ranked among the world’s great animation artists.” The Hollywood Reporter

The film is a wondrous journey, through realms natural and mystical, Flow follows a courageous cat after his home is devastated by a great flood. Teaming up with a capybara, a lemur, a bird, and a dog to navigate a boat in search of dry land, they must rely on trust, courage, and wits to survive the perils of a newly aquatic planet. From the boundless imagination of the award-winning Gints Zilbalodis comes a thrilling animated spectacle as well as a profound meditation on the fragility of the environment and the spirit of friendship and community. Steeped in the soaring possibilities of visual storytelling, Flow is a feast for the senses and a treasure for the heart.
