Time and Space is a 1:1 peer mentoring service for mental health carers and supporters living in the local communities of Stirling and Clackmannanshire. struggling to find time for yourself? Wish you could speak to someone who knows what you're going through? We can help. With Time and Space you can meet someone else living locally with similar experiences. We have 16 volunteers with lived experi

ence as mental health carers who are trained to provide peer support to others in the community. We will work with you to identify a peer mentor that you are well matched with. Meeting for a couple of hours every fortnight in the community, you will have the opportunity to connect with someone who has experienced the sort of problems and emotions you are feeling, and who you can talk to without fear of judgement or stigma.Lived experience, active listening skills and empathy are at the heart of the peer support ideal. We use Penumbra’s accredited I.ROC (Individual Recovery Outcomes Counter) measurement tool as the model on which to assess and improve the peer’s individual wellbeing, and as the framework for the peer-mentor relationship. The project is funded for three years by the Big Lottery, and is managed by the Mental Health Foundation. We are based at Action in Mind in Stirling. A parallel project, Re:Connect, is running in Glasgow based at GAMH.
