The Present Meets the Future ⚽✨

This past weekend, rising football sensation Faith Kaunda had the special opportunity to meet her idol, Racheal Kundananji, in Lusaka.

The meeting was a powerful reminder of what is possible when young girls are given the opportunity, support, and inspiration to pursue their dreams. Seeing a future star connect with one of Zambia’s greatest football icons highlights the impact that positive role models can have on the next generation.

Africa on the Ball and the Racheal Kundananji Legacy Foundation have joined hands to strengthen our shared commitment to empowering young people through sport and community development. Together, we will continue inspiring and supporting the next generation of female athletes through impactful social initiatives in our communities.

By creating opportunities, nurturing talent, and promoting education and life skills, we are helping young girls believe that their dreams are valid—and achievable.

The present has met the future, and the future looks bright. 🌟⚽ InspiringTheNextGeneration

Happy Day of the African Child! 🌍⚽

Today, we celebrate the dreams, voices, resilience, and potential of every African child. At Africa on the Ball, we believe that football is more than just a game—it is a powerful tool for building confidence, promoting teamwork, creating safe spaces, and inspiring hope for a brighter future.

Because when a child is empowered, Africa rises.

To every boy and girl pursuing their dreams: We see you. We believe in you. The future is yours.

Today was no ordinary day as we proudly commemorated the Day of the African Child with learners at Kalingalinga Community School. The celebration was filled with learning, inspiration, and joy as we reflected on the importance of investing in children and protecting their rights.

A special thank you to Racheal Kundananji Legacy Foundation for the generous donation of exercise books, helping to support children’s education and learning journey.

Happy Day of the African Child!

⛳️ Jimmy Bone Memorial Golf Tournament 2026⛳️

A huge thank you to everyone who made the second annual Jimmy Bone Memorial Golf Tournament such a success in support of Africa On The Ball.

Held in memory of our late Patron, Jimmy Bone, the day brought together friends, colleagues, clients, and supporters at Haggs Castle Golf Club for a fantastic day of golf and fundraising. We’re delighted that this year’s event raised more than double last year’s total for communities in Zambia.

Special thanks to our generous prize donors, all participants, volunteers, and supporters. In particular, Bob Burke, Andrew McNee, Michael Cotter, and Dr Andrew Jenkin, who helped make the day possible.

Most of all, thank you to everyone whose generosity and love of sport will help change lives through the power of opportunity.

We can’t wait to welcome you back next year!

OUTREACH PROGRAM RESUMES AFTER SCHOOL REOPENING

This week marked the third week since the successful resumption of our outreach programme following the reopening of schools. The return of these sessions reflects our continued commitment to ensuring that children are equipped with essential life skills and knowledge that contribute positively to their growth, development, and future success.

The focus of this week’s session was Time Management, where learners were encouraged to understand the importance of discipline, planning, prioritising tasks, and making productive use of their time. Through interactive discussions and practical examples, participants gained valuable insights into how effective time management can support both their academic and personal goals.

As we continue with our outreach activities, we remain dedicated to delivering impactful lessons that empower children and help them make informed decisions in their daily lives.

Together, we remain committed to changing lives through football and creating brighter futures for the young people in our communities.

Happy birthday to members of our team Godfrey and Peter, Have a wonderful day! 🎉🎂.

Menstrual Hygiene Day — May 28
Together for a

At Africa On The Ball, we believe that every girl deserves the freedom to play, learn, and lead without barriers.
Menstrual health is not just a hygiene issue; it’s a matter of dignity, equality, and empowerment.

Today, we stand with girls and women everywhere to break the silence, challenge stigma, and promote access to safe menstrual products and education.
Let’s build a world where periods are understood, respected, and never a reason to hold anyone back.

Empowered girls. Confident women. A period-friendly world. 💪⚽

🌍✨ Africa Freedom Day 2026 ✨🌍

Today, we join the continent in commemorating Africa Freedom Day under the theme:
“Ensuring the sustainable availability of water and safe sanitation systems to achieve the goals of Agenda 2063.”

At Africa On The Ball, we believe that just as football unites communities, access to clean water and safe sanitation empowers them. Sustainable development is not only about infrastructure it is about dignity, health, and opportunity for every young person across Africa.

💧⚽ Through sport-for-development, we continue to inspire youth to dream, lead, and build resilient communities where safe water and sanitation are a reality.

Let us stand together for a future where every child can play, learn, and thrive in a healthy environment.

Our outreach team convened this afternoon for a planning meeting ahead of the second term outreach programs in our four schools.

During the meeting, they highlighted key issues from the first term and expressed their commitment to building on the positives achieved during that period.

The outreach program continues to provide an important opportunity for our volunteers to remain grounded and become role models within their communities, positively impacting learners and community members in a lasting and meaningful way.
