Garden Open - Sunday June 14th 11am to 5pm

We are very grateful to Stirling Councillor, Rachel Nunn, who has nominated us as one of the beneficiaries from her participation in the Scotland Gardens Open Scheme.

By opening their garden to the general public and charging a small entry fee, garden owners raise funds for charities - 60% goes to their own nominated charities, 40% goes to Scotland Gardens Open to be distributed to the charity's beneficiaries.

It is a lovely way to spend a day if you are at all interested in gardens or just like a wee day out with a difference.

If this is of interest to anyone please do try to get along and support this event. Please share with anyone who may be interested.

This week, we were invited by some university students to help support at their stall to raise awareness on safe nights out as part of one of their modules. They had an interactive game in which they asked other students whether they knew of any schemes and organisations that could support them if they needed help while out. From the feedback they received, many students learned about Street Pastors for the first time.

Thank you again for the student group that invited us along!

Today we had a great time talking to some S2's at Stirling High School as part of the Youth and Philanthropic Initiative (YPI).

We showed them some of our supplies and got to tell them all about what we do. They had lots of great questions for us!

The team met up with the Community Police Officers last night. Stirling Police has donated £1,000 to Stirling Street Pastors which is very much appreciated and will help to keep our service running.

Inspector Steven McCooey said, "Stirling Street Pastors play a pivotal role in our deployments in and around the city centre, I’m delighted we can support their work. The Street Pastors can be relied on to seek out and help those who are in need of care or reassurance when they are at their most vulnerable. I’m proud to work alongside such a fantastic group of people."
