Thought for today...🤔

There’s something worth saying openly, and it comes from a place of care for our Lodges and what they represent.

Freemasonry is not just a building, a set of traditions, or a name on a billet. It is its members. It lives and breathes through the men who turn up, take part, and give their time to something bigger than themselves. Without that presence, without that commitment, it quietly fades.

Every meeting attended matters. Every chair filled matters. Every conversation, every degree worked, every moment of support for a Brother contributes to keeping the Lodge alive and meaningful. When members drift away or assume others will carry things forward, the strength of the Lodge begins to weaken.

We all have busy lives. Work, family, and responsibilities will always come first. But if we value what Freemasonry has given us, the friendships, the guidance, the sense of belonging, then it is worth making the effort to give something back in return.

The future of our Lodges does not rest with someone else. It rests with each of us.

If we want our Lodges to thrive, to welcome new members, and to continue their traditions for years to come, then it needs us in the room. Not just in name, but in presence.

The lodge is located in a busy residential area with on-street parking. There are several Residents-Only areas, and all visitors should be aware of the parking restrictions.

🅿️ We would therefore suggest nearby alternative free parking, which will not only ensure residents have ample parking but also ensure a clear path for emergency services. See the map opposite for suggested parking.

🚫 Please keep the lane outside the flats clear for emergency vehicles. You can park further along Bridgend on the street adjacent to Mackie of Scotland (but not in their car park). There is ample on-street parking on High Street and on Meikle Court across the pedestrian bridge.

On Tuesday, 21st April, Lodge Thistle No. 127 hosted a large and distinguished deputation from Lodge Montefiore No.753. The visitors conferred the Fellowcraft Degree (The Degree of Memory) on their own progressive candidate. The evening was made more special by the attendance of Bro. Archie Chalmers PM 127, PPGM Ayrshire and current Senior Grand Warden of The Grand Lodge of Scotland. Also, a deputation from PGLA, headed by Bro. Stephen McConnachie, Depute PGM, enhanced the occasion.

The lodge room was further enriched by a large deputation from Lodge St. Andrew Annan No. 1443. They were accompanied by a deputation from Derwentwater Lodge 6375, Keswick (English Constitution). Following the excellent degree, Bro. Thomas Sloan PM 127 received his 50-year diploma and jewel from Bro. Archie Chalmers. This concluded a truly memorable evening of fellowship and freemasonry.

LODGE UNION AND CROWN No 307 - DRAMATISED POW DEGREE 🇬🇧

On Friday, 1st May, Lodge Thistle No 127's Masonic Temple will play host to LODGE DUNLOP CALEDONIA No. 1408, who have invited Lodge Union & Crown, 307, to perform their much-in-demand dramatised Prisoner of War degree.

Lodge Thistle No 127 Easter Egg Donation

RWM Bro J.B. Smith visited Nether Robertland Primary School, where he handed over our Easter Egg collection donated by the brethren of Lodge Thistle No 127 to Susan from the school. These will be distributed to all P1 pupils. Next year, we will be donating to Lainshaw Primary School.
