Happy Pride Month! 🌈

At For Baby's Sake, we believe that every family deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

We are proud to support parents of all genders, identities, sexualities, and family structures. Whether you're parenting together, apart, co-parenting, or navigating family life in your own way, you are welcome here.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the strength, diversity, and resilience of LGBTQ+ individuals, families, and communities. We also recognise the importance of creating services where everyone feels seen, valued, and able to access support without fear of judgement.

Because every baby deserves the best start in life, and every family deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Happy Pride Month from all of us at The For Baby's Sake Trust 💛

At The For Baby’s Sake Trust, we know that tackling complex social challenges requires collaboration and learning from different perspectives.

Our new Expert Opinion blog series shares conversations with thought leaders and practitioners whose work can deepen understanding of the issues affecting families and communities.

In this interview, Professor Ben Hine shares his expertise on parental alienation and explores its intersection with domestic abuse.

Ben Hine is Professor of Applied Psychology at the University of West London and the leading UK academic on Parental Alienation and Alienating Behaviours.

This Infant Mental Health Awareness Week, we're reflecting on the theme of Attunement 💛

Attunement is about noticing, understanding, and responding to a baby's cues and needs. Through these early relationships, babies learn that they are safe, loved, and understood. These experiences help build the foundations for emotional regulation, healthy development, and positive infant mental health.

At The For Baby’s Sake Trust, supporting parents to build strong, nurturing relationships with their babies is at the heart of our programme.

Through dedicated support for each parent, alongside a focus on babies' wellbeing and development, we help families build the secure and attuned relationships that babies need to thrive.

Because when babies feel seen, understood, and connected, they are given the strongest possible start in life.

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do.

At our recent team Away Day, we brought together colleagues from across the organisation, including our central team, practitioners, and trustees, to connect, share insights, and strengthen our collective commitment to our mission.

Creating opportunities for everyone to come together is an important part of how we work. It helps us learn from one another, celebrate our achievements, and ensure we're all moving forward with a shared understanding of our vision and goals.

Days like these remind us of the value of collaboration, reflection, and the expertise that exists across our team. We're grateful for the chance to step away from our day-to-day work, reconnect with one another, and focus on the impact we're working to achieve together.

Thank you to everyone who made the day such a success.

A huge thank you to the Barratt Redrow Foundation for their second year of support 💜

Their ongoing investment in our work enables us to continue supporting families affected by domestic abuse and work towards long-term, generational change.

Grants like this are invaluable, helping us reach more people, strengthen our impact, and build safer futures.

We're grateful to have the Barratt Redrow Foundation alongside us on this journey.

Today, on the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, we recognise that babies affected by domestic abuse are victims in their own right.

Too often, babies are the unseen victims in conversations about domestic abuse. Yet the impact of trauma can begin before birth and shape a child's development, relationships, and wellbeing long into the future.

At The For Baby's Sake Trust, we believe that when we keep the baby in mind, we create better outcomes for the whole family. By supporting parents to heal from trauma and break cycles of domestic abuse, we can help give babies the safe, nurturing start in life that every child deserves.

Today, we call on governments, policymakers, commissioners, and our colleagues across the domestic abuse sector to keep babies in mind when designing services, shaping policy, and making decisions that affect families. Babies may not have a voice, but they must not be overlooked.

⏳ Just 1 day to go. Have you secured your place?

How do we respond when the realities of domestic abuse don't fit neatly into the frameworks we've come to rely on?

Join us on Thursday 4 June at 2:00pm for Seeing the Whole Picture: The Complexity of Domestic Abuse with Frank Mullane, CEO of AAFDA.

We'll explore how different narratives shape our understanding of domestic abuse, the importance of recognising babies and children as victims in their own right, and why reflective, evidence-based practice matters.

This webinar is ideal for professionals working in health and social care, safeguarding, children's services, domestic abuse services, policy, and commissioning.

We’re really pleased to be sharing the amazing resource Getting to Know Your Baby Through What You See, created by .

At the For Baby’s Sake Trust, supporting parents to build relationships with their babies and better understand their cues, feelings, and communication is a key part of our programme modules. Every baby communicates in their own unique way through expressions, movements, behaviour, and connection.

That’s why this week feels so important to be part of: recognising babies as individuals from the very beginning, and taking the time to truly see, understand, and respond to them.

This Global Day of Parents, we're proud to partner with Pause to raise awareness of the challenges parents face.

Together, we recognise that every parent's journey is different. For some, experiences of domestic abuse, trauma, loss, or involvement with services can make parenting particularly difficult. Yet every parent deserves to be met with compassion, understanding, and support.

This Global Day of Parents, let's remember that meaningful change happens when we support parents with empathy, dignity, and hope.
