We’re looking for Saturday volunteers to join the team at The Living Room Charity Shop, 14 The Glebe, Stevenage. If you’re aged 18 or over and can spare up to four hours each Saturday, we’d love to hear from you.

With a regular Saturday morning or afternoon shift of up to four hours, you’ll help sort donations, prepare stock for sale and keep the shop tidy and welcoming. Every item helps raise vital funds so people affected by addiction can access our services free of charge.

You don’t need experience or qualifications. We’ll provide training and support — just bring your reliability, friendliness and willingness to get involved.

It’s a chance to meet people, learn new skills and make a difference in your community.

Come along to The Living Room Christmas Market!

We’d love to welcome you for a day of festive fun on Saturday 21st November, from 10am–4pm, at The Living Room – just around the corner from our charity shop in The Glebe, Stevenage.

Meet Father Christmas, Mrs Christmas and their Elves, with some very special guests… the Gingerbread Man and Shark!

It's free entry and there’ll be plenty to enjoy throughout the day, including Christmas gift stalls, pre-loved clothes, refreshments, a raffle, colouring competition, lucky dip and lots more.

It’s a lovely chance to get into the Christmas spirit, pick up a few gifts and support The Living Room at the same time.

Could you spare a few hours a week to support The Living Room?

We’re looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to join our charity shop team at 14 The Glebe in Stevenage.

Our shop raises vital funds to help keep The Living Room’s services free for people who need our support. By giving as little as four hours a week, you’ll be helping to make a real difference in your local community while becoming part of a welcoming and inclusive team.

As a volunteer, you’ll help with the day-to-day running of the shop. This could include chatting with and helping customers, sorting through donations, preparing items for sale, using the till and helping us keep the shop looking its best.

You don’t need any qualifications or previous retail experience. We’re simply looking for people who are friendly, reliable and willing to get involved. We’ll provide all the training and support you need.

Volunteering can be a great way to meet new people, build confidence, gain experience and develop new skills. It can also be particularly helpful if you’re thinking about returning to work and would like to build up recent experience and a reference.

Free school uniform!

If you're looking for school uniform for the upcoming year, everything on this rail is free.

To ensure there's enough to go round, we're giving away three items per child and ask that you bring them to the till before taking them away.

Also - all our adult and children's clothes are half price - so come and grab yourself a bargain or two 💜

We’ve just had a very kind donation of Pokemon cards!

We’re selling packs of 10 for £1.

We have some tins and other bits and pieces too, plus a few cards that are worth a little bit more, so do come and have a look 💜

As it's Volunteers' Week, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all of our volunteers. Their time, commitment and hard work help make the shop the friendly, welcoming place it is, and we simply couldn't do what we do without them.
