We are also the STEM Delivery Partner for the East of England working alongside STEM Learning. We are an educational charity whose aim is to inspire young people in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). We do this by engaging school pupils in memorable experiences and by introducing them to professional scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians. We have more than 35 year
s’ experience of working at the interface of education and local STEM based business, industry and research. As of 1st January 2023, we will be trading as STEMPOINT to reflect our work in the STEM sector and the geographical location of the East of England. We will continue to run workshops for primary and secondary schools in Hertfordshire and Luton as SETPOINT Hertfordshire. We believe that teachers are experts at teaching students the subjects they need to succeed in academic life and beyond. We provide insight and greater awareness of where those subjects could lead – by linking the world of work to the world of learning using the Gatsby Foundation as a framework. We broaden pupils’ horizons, showing the wide variety of jobs, careers and professions which are dependent on a solid grounding in STEM subjects at school. We aspire to helping to ensure sustainable economic prosperity by nurturing and strengthening our national capability in science, engineering and technology and contributing towards a better-informed society. How do we achieve our aims? We achieve our aims in a number of ways, but always with the young person and their future clearly in mind:
During 2019/2020 our schemes, workshops and equipment loans enriched the learning experiences of around 45,000 pupils. We are the STEM Delivery Partner for the East of England covering Hertfordshire, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk & Suffolk, helping to mobilize
