Thirty years. One incredible community. πŸ’™

Yesterday, we gathered to celebrate the incredible people who make Mercy Ships UK possible - our amazing Home Crew volunteers: our alumni, speakers, and event volunteers who joined us from across the UK.

This year’s gathering was especially significant as we marked 30 years of Mercy Ships UK.

We were honoured to be joined by our International CEO, Dr Michelle White, who shared powerful insights into Mercy Ships’ global impact and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.

As part of the celebrations, we looked back on the journey of Mercy Ships UK through the decades, hearing from Henry Clarke, Ally Jones, and Katrina Collington, whose stories reminded us of the people, passion, and purpose that have shaped this mission over the years.

And what better way to end the evening than with the sound of bagpipes? 🎢 A fitting tribute to the much-loved ceilidhs that have brought so much joy and community onboard our ships.

To every volunteer who gives their time, talents, and heart to Mercy Ships - thank you. You are the heartbeat of this mission, and we are so grateful for all that you do.

As we mark 30 years of Mercy Ships UK, we are filled with gratitude for the past and excitement for the future as we continue bringing hope and healing to those who need it most. πŸ’™

Twenty-nine years ago, Mercy Ships first docked in Madagascar, beginning a partnership with the Malagasy government built around one shared goal: bringing hope and healing through free surgery and healthcare training.

Recently, the crew was honoured to welcome government officials and local partners aboard the for a partners' reception marking the beginning of the 2026 field service.

Surgeries have now begun, and we look forward to the continued transformation in Madagascar made possible through this collaboration πŸ’™πŸ›³οΈ

Fashion, music, laughter, community, what a way to wind down in Sierra Leone!

As volunteers and national crew in Sierra Leone wrap up the field service, they hosted a fashion show at the HOPE Centre for patients and caregivers to enjoy an evening of joy together.

The crowd cheered on as patients and caregivers strutted their finest streetwear and African threads across the stage.

Share in this joy, support our mission πŸ’™
