We are deeply grateful to for their donation of £1,000 through the 2026 Mission Allocation programme.

Our Deputy CEO Mark Wiseman attended Saturday's Evensong where he met Daniel Kemp and Chris Lyall from the Mission Allocation Team.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone at St Albans Cathedral, the Mission Allocation Team, and all those whose generosity and fundraising efforts made this gift possible. Your kindness will have a lasting impact on the people and families we help every day.

These two lovely photos show our charity shop staff and volunteers joining our CEO, Adrienne, for a 20th birthday celebration picture. Fittingly, everyone is dressed in our brand colours of green and purple 💚💜.

As it's Volunteers' Week, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all of our volunteers. Their time, commitment and hard work help make the shop the friendly, welcoming place it is, and we simply couldn't do what we do without them.

Here's to 20 years of the charity shop, and to the volunteers who have been such a big part of its story.

Would you Run for Recovery?

We all know someone whose life has been affected by addiction. Recovery is possible, but it takes good support, hard work, and a lot of putting one foot in front of the other.

This year, you can help make recovery possible by joining us for the 2026 Hertfordshire Half Marathon or 10K in support of The Living Room.

Taking place on Sunday 1st November at the beautiful Knebworth House, the route takes in the grounds of Knebworth Park before heading out through the surrounding country lanes.

Whether you run regularly or this is your first challenge, every mile you complete and every pound you raise will help support people on their journey into recovery.

It costs around £50 a week to support someone in treatment, and since 2000 The Living Room has helped more than 8,000 people find lasting freedom from addiction and destructive behaviours.

By taking part, you’re not just signing up for a race — you’re helping someone and their family rebuild their lives and giving them the chance to start again.

We have special charity places available:
• £28 for the 10K
• £35 for the Half Marathon

If you’d like to run for recovery with us, follow the link in comments to secure your place.
