We've had a fantastic start to our awareness day at !

Thank you to Kevin Bonavia for Stevenage for coming along for a chat, so lovely to catch up, and Will, one of our trustees.

We're here to let people know about our service that helps people into recovery from alcohol, drugs, gambling, disordered eating and other harmful behaviours.

We also want to tell people about our Family and Carer's groups, which provide therapy for the family, friends and carers of someone who is living with addiction.

The words we use matter 💜

When we put the person before the problem, we remind people that they are MORE than what they are going through.

Person-first language helps reduce stigma, encourages kindness and treats everyone with the dignity and respect they deserve.

Because language can judge, or it can support. We choose kindness 💜

Meet The Dep & The Dog – our Deputy CEO Mark and his four-legged training partner, Sidney!

Sidney is helping Mark train for the Hertfordshire Half Marathon & 10k at Knebworth House on 1st November.

If, like The Dep, you'd like to Run for Recovery, and raise money for The Living Room, we still have a handful of charity spaces available.

Our Experts by Experience (EBE) Group in Stevenage has organised a fantastic Summer Fete, bringing everyone together for a day of fun while raising money to support people affected by addiction.

There'll be something for everyone, including live music, face painting, games, prizes, homemade cakes, handmade crafts, pre-loved clothes, refreshments and much more.

The EBE Group plays an important role within our charity, helping to shape our services, raise awareness and inspire others through their lived experience. Events like this help bring people together while supporting others on their recovery journey.

Whether you're coming along for some family fun, a delicious slice of cake or to learn more about The Living Room, we'd love to see you there.

Every visit helps us continue supporting people affected by addiction and sharing the message that recovery is possible 💜
