We’re at St Albans Cathedral today for the St Albans Community Showcase!

Come and say hello at The Living Room’s stall and find out about our free group therapy for people affected by addiction, and the support available for family members and friends.

We’re here alongside more than 60 charities and community organisations until 3pm. Entry is free, with no booking needed, so do pop in and discover the support and opportunities on your doorstep.

Emily and Will took to the airwaves this morning.

They joined Steve on Mix 92.6 to chat about the upcoming St Albans Sleepout.

Will took part in last year’s Sleepout, raising an incredible amount of money for The Living Room, so he knows a thing or two about spending a night under the stars for a good cause.

Anyone who knows Emily and Will will know they love a good chat, so we’re amazed Steve managed to get a word in edgeways!

Today, we had the opportunity to shout about the service we offer at The Oval Community Centre's annual ‘SHOUT ABOUT IT’ awareness event, hosted by Powher.

The hall was buzzing with organisations from across Hertfordshire, offering everything from support for carers and adults with learning difficulties to initiatives helping people get back into work.

One of the highlights was talking to each other about the fantastic support available in and around Stevenage and building relationships with others making a difference in our communities.

We had some brilliant conversations about the value of lived experience and made exciting connections that could open up new opportunities for us as a charity.

The Mayor of Stevenage also spent the morning chatting with everyone, adding a little sparkle to the occasion!

A wonderful, worthwhile day of sharing, learning and connecting—all helping us reach more people who could benefit from our support.

Come along to The Living Room Christmas Market!

We’d love to welcome you for a day of festive fun on Saturday 21st November, from 10am–4pm, at The Living Room at The Glebe, Stevenage.

Meet Father Christmas, Mrs Christmas and their Elves, with some very special guests… the Gingerbread Man and Shark!

It's free entry and there’ll be plenty to enjoy throughout the day, including Christmas gift stalls, pre-loved clothes, refreshments, a raffle, colouring competition, lucky dip and lots more.

It’s a lovely chance to get into the Christmas spirit, pick up a few gifts and support The Living Room at the same time.

One night under the stars could help someone take their first steps towards a brighter future.

St Albans Sleepout is back, and we’d love you to join us on Friday 13th November in the grounds of Oaklands College.

Come on your own, bring a friend or get a team together. By sleeping out and fundraising for The Living Room, you’ll help us provide free counselling and support for people affected by addiction. For some, recovery is also an important step towards finding stability and moving out of homelessness.

We’re proud to take part alongside , and 33 St Albans, coming together to support people affected by homelessness.

Last year, our wonderful participants raised vital funds to help us continue our life-changing work. This year, could you be part of it?

We have volunteer opportunities in our Stevenage charity shop 💜

Could you spare a few hours a week to support The Living Room?

We’re looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to join our charity shop team at 14 The Glebe in Stevenage.

Our shop raises vital funds to help keep The Living Room’s services free for people who need our support. By giving as little as four hours a week, you’ll be helping to make a real difference in your local community while becoming part of a welcoming and inclusive team.

As a volunteer, you’ll help with the day-to-day running of the shop. This could include chatting with and helping customers, sorting through donations, preparing items for sale, using the till and helping us keep the shop looking its best.

You don’t need any qualifications or previous retail experience. We’re simply looking for people who are friendly, reliable and willing to get involved. We’ll provide all the training and support you need.

Volunteering can be a great way to meet new people, build confidence, gain experience and develop new skills. It can also be particularly helpful if you’re thinking about returning to work and would like to build up recent experience and a reference.

This weekend, Michelle, one of our counsellors, took The Living Room to Bradford to raise awareness of recovery support services.

She connected with organisations including Co***ne Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, SMART Recovery and BUBIC, sharing information about our work and speaking about the recovery journey.

Michelle also met the founder of Getting Clean, a social enterprise selling natural bath products and donating 50% of its profits to support people recovering from addiction.

Despite the rain, hundreds of people marched through Bradford with banners, music and drums whilst raising awareness of recovery services and celebrating the strength of the recovery community.

A joyful and inspiring day that showed recovery is possible and something to be proud of 💜
