We were pleased to have a visit from Connor from Age Friendly Herts to our hub at Stoneyhall Community Centre on Thursday.

We were able to share lots of resources to support older people in North Hertfordshire and look forward to lots of partership work in the future.

We have 3 Wellbeing Hubs every week - Monday mornings at Symonds Green and Roaring Meg Retail Park and Thursday mornings at Stoneyhall. Check our website for full details.

This week is Drowning Prevention Week (June 13-20).

Here are some splash parks and water sports centres to stay cool. As warm temperature continues this weekend, beware of the hidden hazards swimming in open water. This includes debris, unpredictable currents and sudden drops in depth. Also, even on the warmest days, rivers and lakes stay surprisingly cold. Why not try one of the county's many organised venues to stay cool in the water. Find out more about enjoying the water safely at: https://orlo.uk/2eFiy

Walking is a great way to improve your fitness and get outside in the company of others. Our walks cover a number of areas of Stevenage and are led by friendly volunteers – one at the front and one at the back to ensure everyone stays together.

We have five Health Walks in Stevenage that are all looking for new walkers. Several of our walks are suitable for parents with pushchairs. Our short walk from Stevenage Central Library is so popular that we are now offering a longer walk, lasting 45 minutes at a brisker pace.
If you love to walk and would like to set up a walking group in your neighbourhood, please contact Claire on [email protected]

We look forward to seeing you on a walk soon.
