Great opportunity to get involved in our community.

WE ARE HIRING

Sinclair’s Bay Trust is looking for a temporary, part-time Community Session Facilitator to join the team on our Sinclair's Bay Social Spaces project early next year.

This position is for 12 hours per week on a fixed-term contract for 10 weeks between January and March 2027 and attracts an hourly rate of £13.45.

Sinclair’s Bay Social Spaces is an established project, entering its 5th year in 2027. It aims to provide a safe, warm and social environment three times a week for 3 hours per day for residents of the Sinclair’s Bay area. Social Spaces events are free to attend and provide opportunities for our community to meet with others to chat, play board games/quizzes, do arts and crafts, read newspapers and enjoy a light lunch with refreshments.

This project operates weekly for 10 weeks on Wednesdays in Keiss Hall, Thursdays in Staxigoe Hall and Fridays in Reiss & Killimster Hall. Sessions run from 11:00am until 2:00pm providing tea/coffee and biscuits, as well as serving a light lunch of soup and sandwiches provided by our caterer. Working hours would be 10:30am to 2:30pm.

The successful applicants would be required to set up and coordinate the day to day running of these events alongside our other Community Session Facilitator (and with remote support of the Social Spaces subgroup). The role involves creating a warm and welcoming environment for the residents of Sinclair’s Bay, serving refreshments and facilitating activities. You would also be required to serve a pre-made light lunch of soup and sandwiches, then tidy up the hall after each event.

It is essential that applicants have a driving licence and access to a car, or are able to get to and from each of the village halls themselves.

Applicants will also need to have up to date Food Hygiene, Moving & Handling and First Aid training certifications, however training can be paid for and provided if these are required.

If you are interested in applying for this role, please send your CV and a cover letter referencing SBT Social Spaces Project to [email protected] Closing date for applications is 10pm on Sunday, 18th October 2026.
