Forest Beavers spent yesterday evening enjoying the shade in The Walled Garden at Stanstead Bury.
They spent some time in the woods making some great dens, emptied a fountain, learnt about some of the fruit and vegetables being grown and drew maps of the Walled Garden.
Of course a highlight for many was enjoying the sprinklers. As much as the plants rejoiced in the water so did our Beavers!

Our Oak Drey Squirrels had a fantastic afternoon at East Herts Miniature Railway (Van Hage Garden Centre). They had the opportunity to explore the workshop, the control centre and enjoyed multiple train rides in the glorious sunshine. Many thanks to the EHMR volunteers Ollie, Nick and Luke, who made the experience all the more special for our young group.

Happy VE Day! Our squirrels celebrated today with cake decorating, using red, white and blue colours, making Spitfires (and testing them out!) And playing some traditional games. Everyone showed off their excellent hula hoop tricks!

This weekend 12 of our beavers attended the District Beavers 40th Birthday camp at Tolmers Scout Camp & Activity Centre!
They had a great time taking part in lots of activities including pedal carts, trampolining, slacklining, fire lighting, rope making and much more!
Many badges achieved and lots of laughs were definitely had.
A huge thank you to all the leaders and parent volunteers who gave their time to help over the weekend.
A special thanks goes to Hertfordshire Zoo for lending us one of their minibuses to transport kit to and from the camp site. Trying to secure transport to move kit on a busy bank holiday weekend can be impossible and without it we can’t offer these amazing adventures to our scouting members. So thanks for helping us make this weekend happen!

Our squirrels, along with their parents and grandparents, had a very exciting outing at Essex and Herts air ambulance base on Friday. They had the opportunity to ask the doctors some brilliant questions and learned lots of amazing facts about the helicopter and it's response time. The children really enjoyed the opportunity to try on the equipment and carry stretchers too!

Forest Beavers had a great session last week! Fire lighting, popcorn cooking and volleyball.
A perfect week to also invest their newest recruit Craig into the volunteer team, helped by his daughter of course.
For all of our sections this upcoming term is a very busy one and it’s thanks to our amazing volunteers that we can continue offering such a busy and adventurous programme.

Our Squirrels had the privilege of having their latest session hosted by Gini at The Walled Garden. Gini taught them about some of the herbs grown in the garden, showed them how to identify and pull weeds and helped them to plant potatoes. The squirrels had the chance to feed the chickens and then the most wonderful opportunity to meet Doris and Delilah, the farm donkeys.
