Summer holidays have officially begun at Lending SPACE! ☀️💚

We had two fantastic sessions yesterday morning, with children busy from the moment they arrived until the last family headed home.

There were sensory dens, obstacle courses, body socks, climbing, bouncing, imaginative play, imaginary boats to sail and plenty of resources to discover. Young people played happily alongside others, friendships were made, and parents and carers enjoyed the chance to sit down with a cuppa while browsing the library.

By the end of the morning, lots of resources had been borrowed and were heading home with families to support play, learning and regulation over the summer holidays.

We’re now fully in summer holiday mode and Lending SPACE is open every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday throughout the holidays.

Sessions need to be booked in advance, with new sessions released every Monday at 7pm for the following week’s sessions.

Behind the scenes at Lending SPACE…

One of our lovely families recently donated this giant sensory ball to Lending SPACE - thank you! 💚

And here’s our brilliant Annette pumping it up and getting it ready for families to borrow.

It might be a million degrees outside, but with the air conditioning on and Annette’s determination, nothing was going to stop us getting it available as soon as possible!

What a lovely reminder that Lending SPACE is powered by an amazing community. Not only do we have incredibly generous families who donate resources for others to enjoy, but we also have an amazing team of staff and volunteers who go the extra mile every single day to sort, clean, test, organise and prepare thousands of resources so they're ready for families to borrow.

Thank you to everyone who helps make Lending SPACE such a special place. 💚

☀️ Summer Holiday Booking Update ☀️

The summer holidays are nearly here, which means a small change to our booking system.

🕖 From 7pm this evening, we'll be releasing tickets for:

📅 Monday
📅 Wednesday

This will be how bookings work throughout the summer holidays, giving you the chance to plan ahead if you're coming to stay and play at Lending SPACE.

💚 Just returning resources? You don't need to book. You're always welcome to pop in to drop off your returns during our opening hours.

Many families visit Lending SPACE looking for sensory support – but understanding why a resource helps can be just as important as finding the right resource.

Our FREE online workshop – Sensory Signs, Signals and Solutions – is designed to help you better understand your child's sensory world and give you practical strategies you can use every day.

Together we'll explore:
💜 What sensory processing differences are
💜 Common sensory signs and behaviours
💜 Why children respond differently to everyday experiences
💜 Practical ideas to support your child at home and beyond

If you've borrowed (or are thinking about borrowing) sensory resources from Lending SPACE, this workshop is a great way to build your understanding and make the most of the support available.
