💙 A quick Lending SPACE update

Our Lending SPACE at The Maltings in Stanstead Abbotts is now closed. We’re working towards a new permanent home and will share details as soon as we can.

In the meantime, swipe for all the dates, times and venues we are popping up and to see just some of what you could borrow.

Remember, everything is completely FREE, including borrowing.

A little Lending SPACE update 💙

We’re sad to share that we have been given notice on our Lending SPACE premises at The Maltings, as our landlords need to take the space back for use by their own plant.

This means our last Lending SPACE opening day at The Maltings will be Wednesday 23rd September.

The Maltings has been home to Lending SPACE for the past few years and we know it has become a really important place for lots of our families – somewhere to borrow resources, but also somewhere to play, chat, ask questions and feel at home.

While leaving isn’t something we had planned, Lending SPACE will continue. 💙

We’re working hard behind the scenes on what comes next and, while we don’t have all the answers just yet, we’ll share more with you as soon as we can.

What we do already know is that our Pop-Ups will continue across Hertfordshire, and we’re exploring venues for a local Pop-Up in the Stanstead Abbotts/Hoddesdon area too.

Thank you, as always, for being part of Lending SPACE and for bearing with us while we work through the next few weeks. 💙

Summer holidays have officially begun at Lending SPACE! ☀️💚

We had two fantastic sessions yesterday morning, with children busy from the moment they arrived until the last family headed home.

There were sensory dens, obstacle courses, body socks, climbing, bouncing, imaginative play, imaginary boats to sail and plenty of resources to discover. Young people played happily alongside others, friendships were made, and parents and carers enjoyed the chance to sit down with a cuppa while browsing the library.

By the end of the morning, lots of resources had been borrowed and were heading home with families to support play, learning and regulation over the summer holidays.

We’re now fully in summer holiday mode and Lending SPACE is open every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday throughout the holidays.

Sessions need to be booked in advance, with new sessions released every Monday at 7pm for the following week’s sessions.

Book your visit here:

We can’t wait to welcome lots more families over the summer for borrowing, exploring, playing and discovering resources that make a real difference.

Behind the scenes at Lending SPACE…

One of our lovely families recently donated this giant sensory ball to Lending SPACE - thank you! 💚

And here’s our brilliant Annette pumping it up and getting it ready for families to borrow.

It might be a million degrees outside, but with the air conditioning on and Annette’s determination, nothing was going to stop us getting it available as soon as possible!

What a lovely reminder that Lending SPACE is powered by an amazing community. Not only do we have incredibly generous families who donate resources for others to enjoy, but we also have an amazing team of staff and volunteers who go the extra mile every single day to sort, clean, test, organise and prepare thousands of resources so they're ready for families to borrow.

Thank you to everyone who helps make Lending SPACE such a special place. 💚

Many families visit Lending SPACE looking for sensory support – but understanding why a resource helps can be just as important as finding the right resource.

Our FREE online workshop – Sensory Signs, Signals and Solutions – is designed to help you better understand your child's sensory world and give you practical strategies you can use every day.

Together we'll explore:
💜 What sensory processing differences are
💜 Common sensory signs and behaviours
💜 Why children respond differently to everyday experiences
💜 Practical ideas to support your child at home and beyond

If you've borrowed (or are thinking about borrowing) sensory resources from Lending SPACE, this workshop is a great way to build your understanding and make the most of the support available.
