Only 2 weeks to go until the Beast Of Durham ride!

There are still plenty of spaces for those who think they’re up for the challange!

If you’re into Cycling and like a challenge the ‘Beast of Durham’ bike ride could be just the challange you’re looking for!

On Saturday 21st June 2025, the ride will set off at 9am from Beamish Park Hotel, and take on a 60 mile route with 6,400ft of ascent along the way making this ride quite the challenge.

Entry is £55 per person and includes a pub lunch/buffet around the half way point.
There will also be a support vehicle with bike trailer which will also be carrying water and various snacks and supplies for those that need a top up or mechanical support.

And of course a huge thank you and shout out to our driver David, who volunteers his time to accompany us along the route; rescue us when we have punctures, carry our minor repairs as well as bike and cyclist recovery after falls and injuries.

He’s even there with coffee ready when we start wandering round at 5am 🤪

All in all he works just has hard as the cyclists, if not harder!

Day 2 in the bag!
Another great day on a very challenging route with varying weather. Brilliant sunshine, heavy raid and even hail stones!

Day 1 in the bag!
Sadly we lost our Peddler Malcolm to A&E 😢Fortunately nothing too serious in the end, but he’s out for the weekend, so get well soon Malcolm!

The rest of us are fed, water and relaxed in the hostel for the evening.

Good Luck to our friends Stanley Peddlers tomorrow! 🚴‍♂️

Congratulations to our Ambassador - Andrew Scott, Director of Stanley Travel who completed the Outlaw Triathlon Ironman 70.3 last weekend!
Andrew is now amazingly joining the team of cyclists from Stanley Travel , Stanley Taxis , Stanley Coaches, and Durham City Taxis, this weekend as they are once again swapping horse power for peddle power, and cycling from Siloth to Tynemouth on the Hadrian Cycle Route.
They will set off on Saturday 24th May 2025 from Siloth, via Carlisle; Brampton, Kielder, & Bellingham before arriving in Tynemouth on Monday 26 May 2025.
In total, cycling around 225 km and climbing over 8100 feet of hills!
