This weekend children from across the group attended camp at Dog Hill Scout and Community Campsite, Shaw, Oldham. They worked together in teams to complete challenges to develop friendships across sections as well as their communication and listening skills.

Well done to all the young people this weekend! You have made us very proud at how well you worked together, supported each other and most importantly showed us how responsible you can be.

Now go and enjoy your Summer which hopefully will be slightly drier, warmer and less windy than this weekend!! ⛺️☀️

The Scouts took over the Boating Lake, spending the evening paddle boarding and kayaking. They had a good time even if some of them spent more time in the water, getting stuck in “seaweed” (algae) than on the board itself.

But they all achieved either their Level 1 or Level 2 Paddle Sports badge! 🚣🏻‍♀️

The Beavers had a blast today at Swineshaw Challenge! 🦫

They spent the day completing a range of activities including den building, fire lighting, making bird feeders, guiding each other through the blind trail, making s’mores and much more.
Their favourite thing by far though was definitely frog catching!🐸

DON’T FORGET!!! QUIZ NIGHT!!
It's official 2nd Stalybridge are hosting a quiz night on Friday 19th June 2026 to raise much needed funds for the group.

We are hosting this night at Dukinfield Masonic Hall, meaning that we will have a full licensed bar on the night! Alongside the quiz we will also have food available and tickets for our raffle will also be on sale.

Tickets for this event cost £5pp with under 16s going free. All tickets MUST be bought by Tuesday 16th June.

We’d love to see as many of you there as possible with an amazing raffle prize worth £100!!

To end the half-term Squirrels and Beavers spent the evening in the park!

The Squirrels fed the ducks and completed their first big walk as a group, even crossing the big main road!! They had some amazing listening.
The Beavers explored the forest area, climbing rocks and of course finding the biggest stick.

We started this back in February, where we researched how we could help our local community and came up with food poverty, have collected food for our local food bank, then dropped it off at Tesco aswell as cooking at our local community kitchen The Power of Resilience CIC
