Stalbridge Cancer & Recovery Support

Stalbridge Cancer & Recovery Support No-one need face cancer alone. SCARS supports anyone with a cancer diagnosis; a cancer survivor; or family or friends of someone living with cancer.

We are a self funded, independent peer support group, serving the local community. SCARS meets the last Monday of each month at The Hub Stalbridge , Dorset from 2-4pm and on the 3rd Monday of each month. No meetings take place in December and those Mondays which fall on a bank holiday. Our drop in meetings are a chance to meet other people who understand the challenges a cancer diagnosis can brin

The group not only welcomes current cancer patients or those who have recovered from cancer but also their family and friends who may find they also need support to come to terms with the life-changing effects of a cancer diagnosis on their loved ones and themselves. SCARS is a self funded, unincorporated association.

It is with the deepest regret that I wish to inform everyone that today was the final drop in for SCARS (Stalbridge Cancer & Recovery Support). After almost 12 years of dedication to supporting cancer sufferers, survivors, family and friends I have had to make a decision to focus on taking care of myself. It’s not a decision taken lightly but the past few years have been hard supporting my parents, having to deal with losing my father, and now coping with watching my mother fading as her Dementia has progressed which is very hard to cope with. I wish to thank June Harman for her unwavering support as SCARS Treasurer but most importantly as my closest friend. Thank you also to everyone who has supported SCARS through donations, raffle prizes and at our events ❤️

Right now, almost 1 million people in the UK are living with or beyond breast cancer.

And by 2050, it’s expected to reach 1.4 million.

That’s why we’re researching now. Campaigning now. Supporting now.

Because we believe we can find the answers to change the future of breast cancer.

We’re Breast Cancer Now. Until we’re Breast Cancer Never.
