Holly’s Heroes is a charity helping children suffering from cancer 💕Registered Charity no 1212224 Holly may be gone, but her legacy lives on.

Welcome to Holly's Heroes – a charity born from the heartbreaking journey of a young girl who showed us the true power of joy, even in the darkest of times. We are here to support children and their families affected by cancer, offering experiences that bring fleeting moments of happiness and lasting memories amidst their battle. Holly West was just 12 years old when she was diagnosed with cancer.

During her courageous fight, we saw firsthand how a moment of joy, a simple smile, or a shared laugh could brighten her world, even as she faced the harshest realities. Tragically, we lost Holly in October 2024, at just 14 years old, a reminder of how fleeting life can be. In February 2025, we founded Holly’s Heroes as a registered charity to continue her legacy and ensure that other children fighting cancer can experience the same light and joy that Holly was so fortunate to feel. Holly’s strength, her laughter, and her unwavering hope have inspired us to give back, to be the heroes that so many charities were for us during her battle. Our mission is simple, yet profound: to bring moments of happiness, fun, and hope to children and families affected by cancer. We strive to offer experiences that create lasting memories, not just for the children but for their families, so that even in their hardest moments, they can find a spark of light. We do this to honour Holly's spirit, her resilience, and the joy she shared with us all, even in the most difficult days. With each smile we bring, with each memory we create, we are reminded that even in the shadow of loss, love and joy can still bloom. Holly’s Heroes is here to ensure that no child ever has to fight alone, and that every moment of happiness we give is a tribute to the brave soul we lost too soon.

💛 SEPTEMBER IS CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS MONTH 💛

Throughout September, we’ll be turning Holly’s Heroes GOLD 🎗️

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is incredibly close to our hearts. It’s a month to raise awareness of the reality faced by children diagnosed with cancer and the families whose lives change forever in an instant.

Throughout the month, we’ll be using our platform to raise awareness, share stories and shine a light on childhood cancer — but we also want September to be filled with hope, love and some very special golden moments. ✨

💛 We’ll be sharing golden moments from the incredible children and families we support — the smiles, laughter and precious memories that remind us exactly why Holly’s Heroes exists.

💛 We’ll be celebrating our Gold Dust Supporters — the amazing people, businesses, fundraisers and volunteers who sprinkle a little bit of magic over Holly’s Heroes and make these experiences possible.

💛 We’ll be talking about the realities of childhood cancer and why creating moments of normality, happiness and family time during treatment matters so much.

And, of course, at the heart of everything we do will be Holly. 🦋

Holly is the reason Holly’s Heroes exists. Her courage, strength, sass and determination continue to inspire everything we do. What began from the most unimaginable loss has become her legacy — bringing smiles and creating precious memories for other children battling cancer and their families.

This September, we’ll GO GOLD for every child fighting cancer, remember those who should still be here, celebrate those who have finished treatment and stand beside those still facing it.

And we’ll keep making sure that Holly’s legacy shines brightly through every smile we create. 💛🦋

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE RESULT! 💙⚽️

You may remember last month our amazing patron Paul Gibbs organised a very special charity football match between England Vets and Ashford Town Vets in support of Holly’s Heroes.

We’re absolutely delighted to share that the day raised an incredible £1,000! 🦋

A HUGE thank you has to go to Paul. Not only did he put so much into making the event happen, he also pulled on his boots and played on the day! His continued support of Holly’s Heroes and everything we’re trying to achieve means more to us than we can say. 💙

Thank you also to all the players and staff from England Vets and Ashford Town Vets for giving their time and making it such a brilliant occasion.

And, of course, to every supporter, volunteer, sponsor, family member and friend who came along, donated or played a part in the day, thank you!

That £1,000 will go directly towards helping us create special experiences and precious memories for children with cancer and their families.

Every event like this helps us continue Holly’s legacy and we will never stop being grateful for the incredible people who get behind us.

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the impact reaches far beyond hospital appointments and treatment.

Family life can change overnight and so much of what families suddenly have to deal with happens quietly, behind the scenes.

Alongside the fear, exhaustion and emotional strain can come a huge financial pressure that many people simply don’t see.

🦋 Travelling back and forth to hospital
🦋 Parking costs
🦋 Accommodation
🦋 Childcare for siblings
🦋 Parents reducing hours or stopping work altogether
🦋 The everyday extra costs that quickly begin to mount

All while parents are trying to do the only thing that really matters to them, be there for their child.

These are some of the realities of childhood cancer that aren’t always spoken about.

It’s also why what we do at Holly’s Heroes means so much to us. We want to give families something away from treatment and hospital life. Time together, something exciting to look forward to and the opportunity to simply enjoy being a family and make precious memories. 💙

Childhood cancer affects so much more than a child’s health. The more we understand about the impact on the whole family, the better we can support them. 🦋

Meet Maia ✨

5 year old Maia was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) in July 2024.

When we asked Maia’s family what would bring her some much needed happiness, there was one very special answer… Peppa Pig World! Paultons Park

We were delighted to send Maia and her family for two magical days at the park, giving them time away from treatment, hospital appointments and everyday worries to simply have fun and make precious memories together.

And it turns out Maia discovered something else while she was there… a love of rollercoasters.

Her Mum has shared what those two carefree days meant to their family and why experiences like these are so important during childhood cancer treatment.

The summer holidays can be a stressful time. The kids argue, the house is noisy, routines disappear, and it’s easy to find yourself wishing the days away until September and the return to school.

I was guilty of that too.

But now I’d do anything to hear those sibling arguments again.

Our house has a different kind of quiet now. We were fortunate enough to get away on holiday, but someone was missing. A daughter. A sister. No amount of sunshine can fill that space. I’d swap the peace and quiet in a heartbeat for the chaos, the mess, and the noise that comes with having everyone together.

There are so many families living a very different reality this summer too. Parents separated because one is in hospital with a child receiving treatment while the other is working, caring for siblings and somehow trying to keep life moving. Families who would give anything for a day out, a holiday or simply a chance to make happy memories together.

So today, be grateful for what you have. Even on the difficult days. Don’t wish the time away, because every moment is precious, and none of us knows how many we’ll get.

A little update from Brooke…✨

Anyone who knows Brooke knows just how much she loves koala bears, so we knew exactly what would make her special experience that little bit more magical.

We arranged for Brooke and her family to enjoy a stay at Longleat, where she got to get up close with the koalas and spend some very special time learning all about them from their keeper.

A huge thank you to the wonderful team at Longleat for helping us make Brooke’s experience so special. The care and kindness shown to Brooke and her family meant so much to us. 🦋💙

Childhood cancer takes more than people often realise.

Birthday parties.
School trips.
Days at the park.
Family holidays.
Saturday mornings that don’t revolve around hospitals.

The little moments that make up an ordinary childhood suddenly become anything but ordinary.

Yet, despite everything they face, these incredible children continue to smile, laugh and show more courage than most of us could ever imagine.

That’s why Holly’s Heroes exists.

Because while we can’t take away a diagnosis, we can create moments where cancer isn’t the centre of the story. Days where children can simply be children. Days filled with excitement, adventure, laughter and memories that every family deserves.
