Community Foundation for Staffordshire The Community Foundation for Staffordshire is a fund and philanthropic management organisation that manages over £7,000,000 per annum.

The only accredited community foundation working across Staffordshire & Shropshire to provide philanthropic management services, endowment building, grant giving and charitable fund management and advice. We help businesses and individuals to maximise their charitable impact whilst minimising their costs. We help people to ensure their legacies are respected and carried out, and we help existing trusts to minimise their workload. We distribute targeted grant funding across the county, to many hard to reach groups, and isolated people, for a variety of causes.

It was great to attend the YMCA Taskforce meeting today at YMCA North Staffordshire and spend some time back in a building that holds so many special memories for me.

Every time I walk through reception, I can't help but smile when I see the tile mural that I helped create back in 2012, when HRH The Princess Royal officially opened the campus. Looking back, it's incredible to think how much has happened since those early days.

As someone who will always call Stoke-on-Trent home, it's especially meaningful to be involved once again with such a fantastic asset for our city and its young people.

It was inspiring to hear from the Young Ambassadors and learn about the fantastic work that is already underway. I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing more about the next phase of their journey.

Community and voluntary organisations across Staffordshire are invited to apply for up to £5,000 to help boost the emotional health and wellbeing of young people.
The Young People’s Emotional Support Fund aims to support projects which help young people build confidence, resilience and positive relationships, while improving their emotional wellbeing and understanding of where to find help.
Staffordshire County Council has commissioned the Community Foundation for Staffordshire & Shropshire to deliver the fund, building on the Foundation’s expertise in managing funding programmes and supporting organisations across the county.
Funding is available for projects supporting young people aged 11 to 19, or up to 25 for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
A wide range of organisations can apply, with funding available for creative and inclusive approaches to helping young people develop skills, confidence and resilience.
Su Beardmore, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People at Staffordshire County Council, said: “Local community and voluntary organisations play a vital role in supporting young people's mental health and wellbeing.
“These grants will help communities deliver early support and positive activities that build confidence, resilience and help young people thrive. I’d urge eligible groups to make an application and the more creative ideas, the better.”
The fund is open to constituted voluntary and community groups, registered charities and social enterprises which have been established for more than 12 months. Projects must take place in Staffordshire, excluding Stoke-on-Trent.
Funding can support a range of project costs, including activities and events, training, equipment, revenue costs and proportionate core costs.
Joe Palmer (pictured), programmes officer at the Community Foundation for Staffordshire & Shropshire, said: “We know that local organisations understand their communities and the young people they work with, and are often able to create support that feels accessible, positive and relevant.
“This funding provides an opportunity for organisations to develop new ideas or build on activities they already know work well.”
The closing date for application is 30 October 2026. For further information about the fund, eligibility and how to apply, visit https://staffordshire.foundation/grants/staffordshire-organisations/young-peoples-emotional-support-fund/

Thanks to a £1,000 grant from the Stafford Borough Council Small Grants Fund, Oak Tree Farm Rural Project has been able to purchase new computers and printers to enhance learning opportunities for the adults with learning disabilities who attend the farm. For 35 years, Oak Tree Farm has provided training, support and meaningful opportunities in a rural setting, offering activities including animal care, horticulture, pottery, gardening, crafts and hospitality.

The new equipment is helping Team Members develop digital and creative skills by researching projects, creating displays, designing menus for the tearoom and supporting a wide range of activities across the farm.

Wendy Robinson, Chief Officer at Oak Tree Farm said:

"We are always delighted to receive funding from the Small Grants Fund as it makes a real difference to the activities we can provide for our Team Members and improves access to technology, creativity and independence."

We're proud to support organisations that create inclusive environments and make a lasting difference in our communities.

If your organisation is making a difference in Stafford Borough, applications are now open for the Stafford Borough Council Community Grants programme. Find out more:
