5th Stafford Boys Brigade and Girls Association A youth organisation for children and young people aged 5-18 years, Thursday Evenings from 6pm

We are a Christian youth organisation for children and young people aged 5-18 of all faiths and backgrounds. We are a new group opening in January and will meet on Thursday Evenings at St Bertelin's Church, Stafford. The Boys Brigade and Girls Association is made up of 4 different sections:

Anchors (Reception - Year 3)
Juniors (Year 4 - Year 6)
Company (Year 7 - Year 9)
Seniors (Year 10 - Year 13)

The Boys' Brigade and Girls Association has faith in young people and provides them with opportunities to learn, grow and discover in a safe, fun and caring environment which is rooted in the Christian faith. There’s something for every young person whether it’s camping or kayaking, first aid or five a side, music or crafts. Members develop skills, build confidence, make friends, take responsibility and are encouraged to make a real difference in their communities – sharing the values that make us who we are. All our leaders have previous experience with leading youth groups, all have enhanced DBS Checks, full leadership and safeguarding training.

This afternoon, four of our senior members supported The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal Launch in Stafford.

After an excellent effort last year, they had been asked back again.

It is such an honour to be asked to support these community events and our members are always extremely proud to be a part of it, helping audience members to seats, supporting special guests on and off the stage, supporting the Standard Bearers and being a fantastic role model and representatives of, not only the 5th Stafford, but themselves, families, schools, town and The Boys Brigade as a whole.

Such a busy night at Anchors 🤖 We looked at harvest and the story of Jesus feeding the five thousand with 5 loaves & 2 fish. We collected all donations of food we are giving to our local food bank as our collective act of kindness. We talked about how some children go to bed at night hungry and how our kindness really matters. We painted autumn leaves in our craft session and then we played games to finish. The leaders we're inundated with the 'Act of Kindness ' sheets returned this week and the Anchors have done a brilliant job 💜 The sweets given in task 8 have been donated to the food bank too! Oh and we welcomed Zac to our crazy bunch and he had a great time. See you all next week The Boys' Brigade UK & RoI Holmcroft WARD Matters Mid-Staffs and Sandwell Battalion

Last night our Junior Section were going crazy in the mazes!

We regrouped into our new squads, appointed our team leaders, learnt about The Boys Brigade Badge and motto, what it means and what it means to be part of The Boys Brigade!

In their squads, they worked together to find solutions to escape the maze!

They then created their own mazes to see if our leaders could escape!

Tonight our Anchors painted kindness stones which we hope to place around the church grounds and park once they've dried. A lot of paint was used tonight not necessarily on the stones 🤣🤣🤣 They played a 'What would you do game' where they had to decide what they would do in several situations by going to some suggestions written on the floor. We also awarded the best Squad for September and the Best Anchor too!!! We can't wait to see what the Junior Section got up too tonight 😍😍
