Grass growth has improved across the province in the last week, however there is still a large variation, with two County’s exceeding the LT av. (61.4 kg DM/h/d).

Grass plot growth for the week past was 40% of the LT av. however, there has been a large range in grass growth across the province, with Northern and Western areas coming off better than the Eastern and Southern areas.

Grass dry matter (DM%) is high, meaning there may be more feed available per ha than you think. Animals can be more content and happier to clean out tight. Target residuals now as when rain comes this material at the base will be unpalatable.
