🎉SCVYS Spotlight of the Month🎉

Beaudesert Outdoor Adventures is a Staffordshire-based charity that has been helping young people grow in confidence through outdoor adventure for over 80 years.
We work with schools, youth groups, charities, and community organisations, providing experiences that encourage young people to step outside their comfort zones, develop resilience and build lasting friendships. Through activities such as climbing, archery, bushcraft and team challenges, young people gain confidence, independence and valuable life skills while having fun outdoors.
Every year, thousands of young people visit Beaudesert. Many arrive nervous and leave muddy, smiling and proud of what they've achieved. We're passionate about making outdoor adventure accessible and ensuring every young person has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

Thank you for everything you do Beaudesert Outdoor Adventures

We are delighted to announce the return of the Les Simmons Youth Impact Awards, established in 2016 to honour the memory of our esteemed staff member, Les Simmons, who sadly passed away in July 2015. Les was a dedicated advocate for empowering young people to reach their full potential, and these awards are a testament to his passion.
The awards are divided into five categories, we invite nominations from SCVYS MEMBER ORGANISATIONS for outstanding volunteers and groups who have made a significant impact in their communities.

Youth Impact (for volunteers under 18)
Adult Impact (for volunteers over 18)
Group Impact (open to any SCVYS member organisation)
Special Recognition Award (for volunteers over 18)
Special Recognition Award (for volunteers under 18)

By nominating someone deserving, you not only recognise their valuable contributions but also provide them with an opportunity to receive official recognition. Every nominee will receive a prestigious ‘SCVYS Accreditation’ certificate, acknowledging their exceptional efforts in Staffordshire.
Awards will be presented at our AGM on November 20th 2026, because we believe in celebrating the remarkable work being done in Staffordshire, particularly by those humble individuals who might not seek acknowledgment for their accomplishments.
The deadline for submissions is 1st October. Successful nominees in each category will also receive a donation of £100 for the organisation they volunteer with.
So celebrate the unsung heroes of Staffordshire and make their impact known by nominating them for an award now!

🎉SCVYS Spotlight of the Month🎉

Vision For All CIC is a community-focused organisation using sport, mentoring and positive activities to support young people and families across Tamworth and the wider Midlands. Based at Vision Football Factory, we provide inclusive football sessions, holiday camps, youth provision, mentoring and targeted support for young people who may face barriers to accessing safe, structured activities. Our aim is to create a safe and welcoming environment where young people can build confidence, improve wellbeing, develop positive relationships and feel part of something bigger. Through our programmes, we have seen young people grow in self-esteem, reduce isolation, engage more positively in their community and, in some cases, progress into volunteering, leadership and employment opportunities.

Thank you for everything you do! Vision For All

The Crime and Policing Act 2026 has changed the definition of regulated activity by removing the supervision exemption. Previously, under that exemption activities such as teaching, training, instructing or caring for or supervising children were not classed as regulated activity if supervised by someone who was in regulated activity.
With this change it means that all such activity is now considered to be regulated activity if it is carried out frequently or meets the period condition which means:
On more than 3 days in a 30-day period
Overnight
