Our Spring Season began on 3 March with 'The Choral', starring Ralph Fiennes. It continues next week (10 March) with 'H is for Hawk', with Claire Foy's award-winning star performance, and Brendan Gleeson playing the father. The Season features our usual mix of recent/new English- and foreign-language films across a range of genres, all of which have received good critical reviews. Several of those have been up for BAFTAs and/or Oscars, notably 'Hamnet', and 'I Swear', but also international hits including 'Sentimental Value' (Norway), 'No Other Choice', (S Korea) and 'The President's Cake' (Iraq). Do come and support SFT by seeing them with us on Tuesday evenings at the Gatehouse.

The Spring Season PDF leaflet* is available on the SFT website www.filmsinstafford.com with links to film trailers and more info; also details of SFT memberships, which offer reduced costs across a season or half-season. *note: do pick up a printed copy of the new Spring Season programme on Tuesday or when you come to the Gatehouse.

As well as our pages, SFT information is posted and updated on Bluesky, go to: .bsky.social
Do join us on this and future Tuesday evenings to share the experience of seeing these highly-rated movies on the big screen.

Best wishes from your SFT Committee

The Christmas pantomime season at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre is fast approaching. Our next film screening will be 'The Ballad of Wallis Island' on Tuesday 13 January 2026.
Over the festive season your Committee will be working to put together a programme for the Spring 2026 season.

Hello! Are you looking forward to the new season? I am! I have a problem. I live in Stone and have recently been advised by my optician not to drive in the dark. I can easily get to the Gatehouse on the bus. However the last bus home leaves The Gatehouse at 9.47pm. The film starts at 7.45. If the film is longer than around 1 hour 55 minutes, I will have to run for the bus before the end.
Is there anyone out there who would be prepared to give me a lift when necessary, and drop me off at some point convenient to them, near the middle of Stone? Only 6 of the 12 films present a problem, and I might not be able to go to some of them for other reasons.
If you are able and willing to help, could you please message me?
Best regards, Alan Green.

This Tuesday we show recent release We Live in Time, a sensitively crafted love story that explores connection, memory, and the passage of time. With pathos and comedy, and powerful performances from stars Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield, it’s a moving, thought-provoking film that lingers long after viewing. Rated 79/83% on RT, 7.0 on IMDb, The Times reviewed the protagonists' 'off the charts' connection, enthusiastically describing it as 'leaner' and 'laser-guided' compared to similarly themed movies.
Usual time and place, 7.30pm at the Gatehouse, Stafford..

Tomorrow night's film at The Gatehouse is Mike Leigh's 'Hard Truths'. Full details are on our website www.filmsinstafford.com.

'Perfect Days' should have been shown during our Autumn/Winter season. Because of an equipment fault this did not happen. The film will be shown on Monday 10 March at the Gatehouse at 7.30pm. If you still have your membership card from last season, please bring it.
