Earlier this month Cheadle Guides planted flowers at the front of St Giles the Abbott Church in Cheadle. They hope it makes a lovely display for people to enjoy.

They originally planted flowers outside the church last year as part of the Eco Award but enjoyed it so much they have decided to make it an annual event.

The flowers were kindly donated by parents and Asda. What a blooming marvellous display!

Huge congratulations to our volunteers who were invited to the Odeon in Leicester Square for a very special guiding celebration on Saturday.

Girlguiding Celebrates recognises our award-winning members as well as volunteers who have been nominated by their community for incredible achievements. What an incredible end to volunteers' week.

What a lovely tribute!

🌺 A floral tribute has appeared in Stonefield Park to mark 50 years of Girlguiding’s A Handful of Songs show.

The display was suggested by Stone borough councillor Philip Leason, with Stafford Borough Council’s parks team working with the Guides on the design.

It is one of two summer carpet beds in the borough, with the other in Victoria Park, Stafford, marking Stafford Rangers’ 150th anniversary.

We’ve had a great first day at the Staffordshire County Show. We’ve played games, made crafts, met lots of current and future potential members and generally had lots of fun.

If you’re at the show tomorrow then come and find us, we’re near to the main arena and right behind Staffordshire Police!

Have you seen The Staffy Trail? It is a collection of heritage and art trails in and around Stoke, Stafford, Lichfield, Uttoxeter and Tamworth featuring very cute sculptures of Staffy, Staffordshire's visitor mascot.

We're challenging girls (and leaders) to have their photo taken in uniform in front of one of the Staffy Sculptures. Please send your photographs to [email protected] or post them below!

Don't delay, the trail is only available until 19 July!

We're very excited to have our stand at the Staffordshire County Show again this year on 27 & 28 May.

We'd love a couple more volunteers on each day to help us shout about Girlguiding in Staffordshire. If you love telling people how fabulous guiding is then we'd love you to join us.

We're all set up for our camp skills day. Didn't book in time? Don't worry, feel free to pop along anyway. Take a look at the tents GO Outdoors are demonstrating, make s'mores over an open fire, learn some new campfire songs and much more!

There's still time to sign up for our camp skills day on 9 May. You can drop in at any point between 10am and 4pm to check out our various stalls and activities.

GO Outdoors will be supporting this event and bringing along some lovely tents for you to explore as well as answering all your camping and equipment questions—perfect if you’re thinking about upgrading your gear or just want a browse.

What else is on:
• Camp cooking (storage, meal ideas & demos)
• Fire lighting & safety + s’mores
• Kit lists & equipment
• Whittling demos
• Campfire songs to take back to your unit
• Plus the essentials—risk assessments, RENs, etc.

🕙 10am–4pm (drop in anytime activities will run throughout the day)

We’re proud to have over 400 units covering every corner of Staffordshire from small rural units to those in towns and city centres. We’re proud of every member who gives their time to make a difference in their community and being part of what helps to make Staffordshire a great place to live.
