The Youth Net

The Youth Net If you wish to speak to a staff member please call 01785 242631 or email [email protected] or [email protected]

Our aims are to help children and young people flourish physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, and we achieve this by working with schools and churches to deliver our Explore, Engage, Connect and IF Projects. Launched in Autumn 2003, The Youth Net (previously called Mid Staffs Youth Net) is a Scripture Union Local Misson Partner and charitable trust supported by Christian churches of all denominations.

Easter is Here! Hallelujah! (translation: Hurray!!)
Today we celebrate Jesus' resurrection - that he rose from the grave. In this, we find hope, joy and new life. Christians believe that following Jesus allows us to come closer to God and find hope and freedom in Him. That Jesus' death and resurrection fulfils the promises that God made to His people throughout the Bible and demonstrates how much He loves us.

What does Hope mean to you?

Good Friday is a moment for people who follow Jesus to pause and reflect.
Crucifixion is horrific, yet we still call this Friday "good". It's because we believe that through his death, Jesus made a way for us to truly live. That the whole of the Easter story demonstrates a God who keeps His promises, defies sin and darkness and makes a way for us to know Him.

"Behold! I am the Easter Seagull!"

Introducing Steven the Easter Seagull; a character created by one of our Year 11s (with a little help from Chat GPT), inspired by the Easter Cuckoos of Switzerland. Steven has a dream and is determined to follow it, not letting other seagull's comments dissuade him. Let's be more Steven.

I've been mentoring weekly in Bailey Street Alternative Provision Academy and used a bunch of different resources from Youthscape to kick off the new year and to help young people with reflecting and setting potential goal/targets at the start of 2026:

> Vision Board
> Prioritising your job list
> Habit Tracker
> Problem solving

They've written their future goals and I will use those goals to work through how, why and what personal development skills they need to achieve them. i.e. “Get GCSEs 2 or 3 above, savings for a holiday/car”, using skills like resilience and determination and discipline to fulfil their goals.

*Making space for what's good*
Worship isn’t always big churches, big songs or big moments — sometimes it’s just paying attention.

Slowing down enough to actually see something good in your day.

Maybe it’s the sky doing that unreal pink‑gold thing on your walk.
Maybe it’s a friend making you laugh harder than you expected.
Maybe it’s just one quiet second where you breathe and feel grounded again.

Those little pauses?
They matter. They wake us up to the good.

Your challenge:
Notice one good thing today.
Share it if you want to.
