🏉🏹 NATIONAL RUGBY & ARCHERY COMPETITIONS 2026 🏹🏉

What a fantastic weekend of sport for our cadets! 💪

On 17–18 October, cadets from across Staffordshire & West Midlands (North Sector) ACF came together to represent the county at the National Rugby Competition.

🏉 Junior Boys – 4th Place
🏉 Senior Boys – 6th Place

Whilst all this was happening on the rugby pitch, our cadets were also busy competing in the National Archery Competition, where our Junior Teams came away with a fantastic win! 🏆🏹

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part across both competitions! 👏

It was a brilliant weekend of teamwork, determination and sportsmanship, with our cadets giving it their all, whether on the rugby pitch or at the archery range.

We’re incredibly proud of everyone who represented the county and the effort they put in throughout the weekend.

Well done to you all, you’ve done the county proud! 👏🏉🏹

👏 A GENEROUS DONATION MAKING A REAL DIFFERENCE! ❤️

On 8th October, our cadets at Dudley Detachment were delighted to welcome back Mac Surfacing Ltd, who arrived with a very special donation – two brand-new Resusci Anne CPR training manikins and a training defibrillator! 🚑

Having visited the detachment previously, the team at Mac Surfacing Ltd were so impressed by the work we do and the opportunities we provide for young people that they wanted to continue showing their support.

They even took the time to stay and watch our cadets get hands-on with the new equipment, putting their first aid knowledge and skills into practice.

❤️ This generous donation will make a real difference, helping our cadets develop essential lifesaving skills, build confidence and progress through their Army Cadet star levels.

Support like this means so much to our detachment. It is wonderful to see a local business recognising the positive impact the Army Cadet Force has on young people and choosing to be part of that journey.

From everyone at Dudley Detachment, a huge THANK YOU to Mac Surfacing Ltd! 👏

Thank you for your generosity, your time and, most importantly, for believing in what we do and the young people we support.

💚 Together, we’re helping to develop skills that could one day save a life!

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we're wrapping up Take ACCTion 2026.

We're celebrating the incredible effort our supporters have shown to raise awareness and vital funds.

To everyone who took part, volunteered and fundraised... THANK YOU!

Thank you for helping us provide cadets with wellness spaces and equipment, break down barriers and reduce mental health stigma for the next generation of leaders.

Your support means more life-changing opportunities and support for young people across the UK.

Cadets and adult volunteers from TP Riley Detachment welcomed members of the public and the Mayor of Walsall last night as they opened their doors in celebration of the first National Cadets Week.

The event, held at Shelfield Ormiston Academy, provided visitors with an opportunity to experience life in the Army Cadet Force and discover the wide range of activities available to young people.

Throughout the evening, cadets showcased their skills in Fieldcraft, Drill, First Aid and Navigation, confidently engaging with visitors, explaining their activities and demonstrating practical skills, including how to carry out CPR.

The evening highlighted not only the skills cadets develop through their training but also the confidence, leadership, teamwork and communication skills gained through being part of the Army Cadet Force.

The visit from the Mayor of Walsall was a particular highlight, providing an opportunity to meet cadets and adult volunteers and learn more about the positive impact the organisation has on young people within the local community.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who attended and supported the evening, and particularly to the cadets and adult volunteers who made the event such a success.
