thin the county of Staffordshire and surrounding areas. Our holistic approach encourages learning and promotes wellbeing. We support vulnerable adults, young people and children, schools, community groups as well as private individuals. Working with local learning partners including Staffordshire Adult & Community Learning Service, Quest Day Opportunities, Stafford College and South Staffordshire College (Rodbaston Campus) we offer project based vocational skills, mainstream education support and supported work placements. We provide a volunteering opportunities for adults and young people, well being activities and personal development programmes, support for those with mental health issues and one-to-one mentoring.

A fantastic day at Stafford Castle! 🏰

Members of the CARE team visited today’s Viking Re-enactment to support this brilliant local event and even enjoyed a close encounter with one of the birds of prey! 🦉

It was wonderful to see so many people from the community and our learning groups at CARE enjoying Stafford Castle, learning about Viking life and making the most of this special local venue.

While we were there, we also took the opportunity to check on the medieval herb gardens that our CARE learners helped to refresh. It was lovely to see the gardens continuing to develop and being enjoyed by visitors.

A huge well done to everyone involved in organising such an entertaining and educational event!

Looking forward to continuing to support Historic Stafford and begin a new project at Isaac Waltons Cottage!

🎨 FREE ONLINE WATERCOLOUR COURSE FOR STAFFORDSHIRE ADULTS - STARTING SOON!

Would you like to try watercolour painting, learn a new skill and enjoy some relaxing creative time from home?

Our friendly six-week online course is designed especially for complete beginners, no previous art experience is needed. Fully flexible course to fit around your daily routine or commitments.

Stafford Castle - Herb Garden Open Day Success! 🏰🌿

Yesterday the group hosted a brilliant open day at Stafford Castle showcasing all the hard work that had been done in the medival herb gardens.

On the day the group ran a number of activities including free craft workshops such as making a scented sachet with Hapa Zome art, brewing herbal infusion teas, selling crafts, photography, a display of old tools, children's activity trail and more! We even had some old fashioned sweets to sample! Lovely to see so many families getting involved and the lavender in particular was a hit :-)

Thank you to everyone who came to support the event, Tracy and the team at Historic Stafford, Staffordshire Community Learning and of course the CARE group who have worked so hard to finish this great project.

🌿 CARE Celebration Day - Stafford Castle - Thursday 30th July 🏰

Next week we are celebrating the refreshed Medieval Herb Garden at Stafford Castle, 11am - 2:30pm.

We will be there to showcase the great work the group have undertaken and learners are available to chat through the historical reasons for designing the beds as we have.

On the day we will also be selling some plants and providing information on the courses at CARE.

Countywide Mental Health Forum

Excited to have been asked to present at yesterday’s Countywide Mental Health Forum as one of four keynote speakers. Carol presented on our role in supporting the community with wellbeing, particularly the role of art & creativity. An area we pride ourselves in through hands on group work and more recently our range of popular online courses.

For the last 15 years CARE have, in its role as a delivery partner for Community Learning, promoted the five ways to wellbeing and personal growth. Mindfulness and learning new skills are a big part of this and we are lucky to have a great team with lived experience who deliver courses.

Together with learners we are always looking to innovate and deliver exciting new courses, so please keep an eye out on our page for details closer to the time. We have some exciting new art courses in the pipeline including an online art journaling course which will be great!

🌿 New Ancient High House Herb Planter 🌱

The groups been busy at CARE this week building & decorating this lovely herb planter. It has been delivered to Stafford Castle ready to make its journey to The Ancient High House, where it will take pride of place in the courtyard.

So great to be contributing to this amazing local historic venue and be a small part of giving a bit back.
