In our latest Money Matters column, Lois Alexander, one of our Money Advisers, shares how reaching our for support early can help people facing financial pressures access benefits, manage debts, reduce money worries and protect the security of their home.

🌿 A big thank you to our volunteers and supply chain partners PH Jones for helping tidy the communal gardens at Longleat Close in Minsterley.

Working alongside colleagues from Housing Plus Group, the team spent the day preparing the gardens for winter, creating a space residents can continue to enjoy.

Thanks to everyone involve, especially to the scheme manager for keeping everyone going with tea and biscuits! ☕🍪

It's amazing what can be achieved when people come together to support their local community. 💚

📚 A bright new chapter for the children at Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge CofE Primary School!

Working with our partners and colleagues who volunteered their time, we helped transform the school’s library into a bright, welcoming space.

Mandy Dhaliwal, Headteacher at Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge CofE Primary School, said: “The transformation is fantastic. With freshly painted walls, new carpet and a bright, welcoming feel, the library has been given a completely new lease of life. The best response has been from the children themselves, who have already been telling us how excited they are to spend time in there, explore the books and enjoy choosing their next read.”

Chris Farmer, Branch Manager for Jewson Partnership Solutions, said: “It's great to see the material we provided put to such good use and for a great cause, giving pupils a fresh new space to learn. Social value is at the heart of what we do along with Housing Plus Group, helping make our communities a better place for everyone.”

Double success for Housing Plus Group at the Apprenticeship Awards! 🏆

Congratulations to Jake, Ryan and Madison, who were recognised at the 2026 Shropshire Telford & Wrekin Apprenticeship Awards yesterday.

Apprentice Housing and Care Assistant Jake was crowned Telford & Wrekin Apprentice of the Year, having also reached the final of the Health and Social Care Apprentice of the Year category. Judges praised his dedication, compassion and commitment to supporting people with disabilities and complex needs, describing him as "an absolute star who brings positivity to every shift."

Advanced Craft Electrician Ryan took home the Mentor of the Year award in recognition of the outstanding support he provides to apprentices, helping them build confidence, develop their skills and reach their potential.

Clerk of Works Apprentice Madison was recognised as a finalist in the Rising Star Apprentice of the Year category, highlighting the progress she has made during her apprenticeship and the positive impact she is already making in her role.

Housing Plus Group was also shortlisted for Large Employer of the Year.

Congratulations to Jake, Ryan and Madison on their achievements, and to all our apprentices who make a positive difference for customers and communities every day. 👏🏆

🍀 Good luck to everyone attending the Shropshire Telford & Wrekin Apprenticeship Awards tomorrow!

We're incredibly proud to have been shortlisted in four categories, recognising two of our apprentices, one of our mentors, and Housing Plus Group as an organisation.

Apprenticeships play a vital role in helping people develop new skills, grow their careers and reach their potential. In this video, you'll meet Lewis and Poppy whose journeys started with work experience and who are now thriving in their apprenticeship roles.

Dear Reader, we're proud of our Corsers Close community!

They have created a new mobile library, making it easier for residents to enjoy books - especially those who find it harder to visit their local library.

Ros, a resident at Corsers, wanted to help other keen readers while also supporting Compton Care. The library is made up of novels from the charity's local shop, which can be donated back after they've been read.

Thanks to Ros, residents now have lots of books at their fingertips whenever they fancy a new read - perfect for the cosy autumn months!
