Our next meeting is on Monday, June 1st 2026, 7.30p.m. in Haughton Village Hall and the Speaker is Revd. Christopher Parkes who will be telling us about “Life as a Chocolatier”. Visitors are always very welcome to come and join us. The first two visits are free apart from a small charge for refreshments…. cake and coffee/tea!

On Monday, May 4th we are looking forward to welcoming our speaker, Aimee Atherton, who is coming to talk to us about the Charity “Medical Detection Dogs.” These amazing dogs are trained to detect many diseases and can help their owners lead safer and more independent lives. We will be having a raffle to raise funds for this excellent cause. Everyone is very welcome to join us at Haughton Village Hall at 7.30p.m . You do not need to be a member, visitors are welcome too!

We do not have an April meeting as it falls on Easter Monday. Our next meeting will be on Monday, May 4th at 7.30p.m., when we will be welcoming Aimee Atherton from the charity, “Medical Detection Dogs” . This charity provides trained Medical Alert Assistance dogs and Aimee will tell us how these wonderful dogs have the power to change lives. The proceeds of our raffle will go to support their work, and visitors are very welcome to join us in Haughton Village Hall for the talk and refreshments.

Our next meeting is on Monday, 2nd March at 7.30p.m. in the Village Hall and will include our Annual General Meeting. We will look back at some of the highlights of the last 12 months and then elect our committee for the coming year. To add a bit of fun to the proceedings, we will then present the panel game “Call my Bluff” (a touch of nostalgia from the 1970s / 80s) before we round off the evening with tea and cakes. Visitors are always welcome, so do come along and enjoy the evening.

The next meeting of Haughton W.I. will be on Monday, February 2nd 2026 at 7.30p.m. in Haughton Village Hall. We look forward to welcoming members and visitors to a “Bhangra Dancing ‘Feel Good’ Session with UK 2025 award winning Bhangra Dancer, Jee Kaur. For those who wish to join in and try Bhangra dancing for themselves, Jee suggests that you wear comfortable shoes! The evening will provide lively entertainment for both participants and spectators, and as usual we will end the evening with tea/coffee and delicious cakes! Do come along!

Wishing all our members a Happy and Healthy New Year 2026

The first meeting of the New Year will be a social evening for members and visitors on Monday, January 5th, 2026, at7.30p.m. at Haughton Village Hall. The committee are arranging a version of the old panel game, “Call My Bluff’ which will include a little bit of audience participation! Come and join us and maybe learn a few new words to impress your family and friends!

As usual we will have tea/coffee & delicious cakes to round off our meeting. See you there!

On Monday, our guest speaker is Kevin Reynolds with his talk 'Have a Wild Christmas', all about the plants that have become embedded in our traditional Christmas celebrations. Our competition for the evening is 'A Christmas Ornament', so please bring along any items that you love, or that have an interesting story. We will be rekindling the 'Miss Sparkle competition too, so I'm looking forward to seeing those of you that would like to, in all your glittering finery ✨ Christmas jumpers / scarves / earrings also welcome 🤗

Well, it's official, Christmas is just around the corner and we are kicking our Haughton WI celebrations off with our annual dinner this Saturday (29/11) at 7pm. We are looking forward to a mulled wine reception, delicious three course dinner, prepared by Like Nanna Made, followed by coffee and mints; before our wonderful guest entertainer, Gabriela La Foley takes to the stage. It's going to be a memorable night, see you there!
