Llysyfran YFC has lost one of its greatest ever members and supporters.

As today's members we are proud to remember the wonderful contribution which Edna gave to our club, our county and our country. With six decades of involvement as a member, leader, trainer and mentor, Edna's passing leaves an immense gap.

The success she enjoyed in our YFC movement was reflected in the many roles she was awarded: Rally Queen, Club President, County Chairman, Chairman of Wales YFC, County President. Always willing to help any young person to improve their skills in public speaking, she exemplified the saying, "once a young farmer, always a young farmer."

We remember her as the most loyal member of Llysyfran YFC and we send our deepest sympathies to Andrew, Katie and Edna's wider family❤️

Edna passed away peacefully at Withybush Hospital on Tuesday 29th September 2026.
Beloved wife of Andrew, much loved mum of Katie, cherished sister and sister-in-law of Myfanwy and Arfon and the late David, and a loving aunt.
The funeral service will take place on Tuesday 20th October, 11:30am at St. Mary’s Church, Talbenny followed by interment in the Churchyard.

We will be raising money for Llys-y-Fran YFC and to the Withybush Chemotherapy Day unit.

🌟PUB OF THE MONTH🌟

Llys-y-Fran YFC are hosting Pub of the Month for September in the Globe Inn, Maenclochog, this Friday 25th of September from 8pm.

We will be having a 6-dart competition, £2 to enter, cash prize, highest score wins! So come along and try your luck!

Congratulations to our secretary, Bethan Jenkins, for being elected as the Chairman of the International Sub-Committee at CFfI Cymru Wales YFC today 🧳

An excellent achievement and a reflection of all her hard work during her time in the committee- good luck for the year✈️

🌟Pembrokeshire YFC AGM🌟

Last night we attended the Pembrokeshire YFC AGM. It was a special evening for Llys-y-Fran YFC as our Club Chairman Rhys James was elected as Pembrokeshire YFC Vice Chairman. We wish him all the best over the next 2 years.

🏆Congratulations to Bethan Jenkins on winning the Minute Book Trophy, and to Bethan and Steven on winning the Overall Club Records Trophy.

Llys-y-Fran YFC came 2nd overall in the English Championship Trophy, a true reflection on how hard the members have worked over the last year.

Congratulations also to the outgoing County Officials, and we wish all the best to the new officials for the new YFC year.

Our car treasure hunt tonight is ON! First car to leave from 6:30pm and last car is 7:30pm. £10 per car.

Llysyfran Meadow Camping is with us making pizzas for afterwards, and there is a Treasure Hunt Special for one night only!

Highlights from last night’s AGM!
Thank you to our outgoing officers for a brilliant year, and good luck to our incoming team! 👏
We were thrilled to donate £1,000 to The Catrin Vaughan Foundation, £1,000 to Prostate Cymru, and £100 to Gwastad Chapel.
Special shoutout to Lily-Grace for winning the Attendance Cup, and to our final 100 Club winners: Jayne Harries, Miriam Grim, Megan Greenhalgh, Stephen Morgan, Tomos Evans, and Andrew Griffiths! 🎉

What an incredible achievement for an incredible lady!

Everyone at Llysyfran YFC would like to say a huge congratulations to our wonderful Club Leader, Edna Davies, on being awarded the prestigious Idris Davies Memorial Award.

Edna has given so much of her time, energy and heart to Llysyfran YFC over the years, and the support, encouragement and guidance she has given to our members has been truly incredible.

For generations of young farmers members, Edna has been there- encouraging us to have a go, supporting us through competitions, helping us build confidence and always being there with a kind word, a smile and plenty of encouragement.

Her dedication to Llysyfran YFC goes far beyond simply being a club leader. She has helped create opportunities, memories and friendships that will stay with our members for years to come. We honestly couldn’t ask for a more caring, supportive and inspirational person to be a leader of our club.

This award is such a fitting recognition of everything Edna has done for the YFC movement and for young people across Pembrokeshire. We are incredibly lucky and proud to have her as our Club Leader.

Congratulations Edna- this one is so very well deserved!
