StreetScene keeps Stafford Borough clean and tidy, they also look after and maintain our flower beds and verges. They support and advise Rising Brook Ground Force whenever we ask. Today they took some bags of rubbish away in Manor Ward All done and dusted. Thanks again to StreetScene.

"Think globally, act locally" 🌍

Ecology Members Dave and Val looked at a neglected, nameless patch of council land in Stafford and saw a bright green future.

What started as a simple idea to bring nature back to their doorstep blossomed into Rising Brook Ground Force: a volunteer-led group of 50 neighbours transforming their local environment bit by bit. From planting native trees to clearing the local brook to prevent flooding, they are proving that small, local actions add up to lasting change.

We’re so proud to support Dave, Val, and the whole Rising Brook Ground Force team with a donation to help them to continue to grow💚

Could your school become Bumblebee Friendly?

Stafford Borough Council is working with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust to encourage local schools to take part in the Bumblebee-friendly Schools Award.

The award helps pupils learn about pollinators and biodiversity through practical activities that make a real difference for bumblebees and other wildlife.

Schools can work towards; bronze, silver or gold award.

By completing a range of bumblebee-friendly actions and providing evidence of their achievements, schools can gain recognition for their commitment to nature and environmental education.

We will be sharing more information with schools in the coming months, with the aim of launching participation later this year.

Together we can help create more pollinator-friendly spaces across Stafford Borough while inspiring the next generation of environmental champions.
