1st August is World Scout Scarf Day!

We’d love all our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to join in by wearing their Scout scarf at home, out and about, or on holiday.

It’s a simple, fun way to celebrate being part of the worldwide Scout family.

Millions of young people and adults across the globe will be wearing their scarves too — it’s like a giant birthday for Scouting.

If your child wants to take part: Just pop their scarf on during the day
Snap a photo if you like
Share it with us so we can celebrate together

Thank you for supporting the Group and helping the young people feel proud of who they are and what they’re part of.

Happy Scout Scarf Day!

What a brilliant way to finish our Cub year!

Last night our Cubs took on Clip ‘n Climb for a full evening of challenges, laughs, and cheering each other on. From racing up the walls to conquering new heights, they showed amazing teamwork and confidence all the way through, finishing with pizza and ice cream.Cubs now take a break for the summer and return in September.
We wish all our families a fantastic summer holiday — enjoy every adventure that comes your way.

This week it was our second group of 11 Cubs who headed out for their kayaking session — and they certainly made the most of the hot weather.
After practising their paddling and getting confident on the water, they took the chance to cool off with a dip in the canal, which brought plenty of laughter and big smiles.

Another brilliant evening of adventure and teamwork for our Cubs.

Tonight our first group of 11 Cubs had a go at kayaking, led brilliantly by our very own Raksha.
They learned the basics of paddling, steering and staying confident on the water, with Raksha guiding them step by step. Plenty of smiles, splashes and proud moments as they took on something new and adventurous.

A fantastic start to our water activities this year.

Tonight we began our Gardener Badge by planting small gardens for the Cubs to take home and look after over the summer holidays.
With help from our parents, everyone built their own little planter, chose their seeds and learned what their plants will need to grow. Lots of care, curiosity and very proud young gardeners heading home.

Being outdoors brought out plenty of extra energy too — a few of the Cubs took the chance to practise their cartwheels on the grass, adding to the fun of the evening.

A brilliant start to the badge and a lovely summer project for them to nurture.

Tonight at Sherratts Wood Campsite our Cubs tried their hand at archery, listening carefully to the instructor, Dave, as he taught them how to aim safely and confidently.
They practised their shots, focused hard on their technique, and even had a go at popping balloons on the targets — which led to plenty of cheers and big smiles.

A brilliant evening of concentration, fun and new skills for everyone.

Tonight our Cubs planned their menu for the upcoming District Camp, where we’ll be celebrating 110 years of Cub Scouting.
They came up with a brilliant mix of ideas — thinking about breakfasts, camp favourites and a few fun treats to mark the anniversary. Lots of discussion, teamwork and very enthusiastic chefs in the making.

Our Cub of the Week was Elenor, who stood out with her great attitude, helpfulness and the way she got stuck into the planning. Well done, Elenor.
