What a day today - busy, busy, busy at the Haywoods Repair Cafe as we only had three repairers on the electricals, shearing and electronics front plus our stalwart Soft Textiles Team of Judy, Chris and Jenny.

To those of our visitors who we didn't manage to get to due to time constraints, please do bring your items to repair next month when our full team will be back in action.

A cuckoo clock owner went away happy with her now functioning cuckoo, Liz McAulay with her umbrella sporting a repaired handle, a much loved plaque can now be displayed, and a visible repair (Sashiko style) on a hole in a T shirt were just some of the items which the Repair Cafe has been delighted to fix!

Second outing of the Haywoods Repair Cafe was busy again today. We repaired, among other items, a sewing machine, a leaf blower, a fine chain on a necklace, a mobility scooter, a parasol, an electric light, a jewellery box ..... so many pairs of shears, pruners, branch loppers and lawn edgers were sharpened - and so many cups of tea were drunk, biscuits and cake consumed.

We laughed, we giggled, we cheered and we fixed things!! Because that is what we do. Most excellently.

Try us out in June. On Sunday 14th. You'll like us. You really will. And our planet will be so happy that you found us.

Fix It. Don't Ditch It!

We're still buzzin' after a week on from our successful Launch! Kristin Evans' pics will show you why.

A big thankyou to Kristin for giving up her time and skills to support us on April 12th, to the Lady Mayor, Jenny Barron, for opening the event for us and to the fabulous Gemma Wall from for even more support with her Rescue Me Pop Up Shop. And, of course to our fantastic Haywoods Repair Cafe Team: Alec Dodd, Jerry, Tony H, Tony Welsh Cake, Big Bob, Richard, Judy, Jenny, Chris, Val, Rob, Angela and Ellie.

We saved 40 items from landfill, 23 were repaired on the day, 11 were taken away to repair back at base and 6 customers went off to buy spare parts to repair their items at the next event. What did our customers say? Let us tell you some of their comments:

Brilliant! excellent; lovely, had a good vibe; gold star; very helpful repairer; what a great example of building a community.

We asked 'will you visit the Repair Cafe again'? and the best answer was 'Hell, yes' !

Your next opportunity will be on Sunday May 10th. Put the date in your diaries. We look forward to seeing you at Little Haywood Village Hall and doing it all over again!
