⚜️Last night, the Cubs continued the Fire Safety badge. They learned how to build a pymarid fire in doors before reassembling them outside and lighting them. We talked about safety around lighting the fire, keeping ourselves safe around the fire and how to safely put a fire out. We finished off will a game of Captains coming, a firm favourite amongst the pack. Well done tonight Cubs!⚜️

⚜️New sixes formed with new 1️⃣Sixers and 2️⃣Seconders to lead, so naturally a team-building activity using communication skills with a dash of fun was a must! Even some courageous💪 leaders trusted the Cubs to lead them! We had to start the session off with a friendly game of 🦀crab football⚽️ to get the night rolling! Well done tonight Cubs⚜️

⚜️Tonight, the Cubs started the 🔥Fire Safety Badge🔥 This was one of the badges that the Cubs had voted for in their forum the other week. They all practiced using matches safely and lighting candles🕯They even had a little practice fire drill so they knew what they'd do in the event of a fire whilst at Cubs. Great job 👌🫵👍 tonight Cubs!⚜️

Thank you to leader Bargheera tonight for planning tonight's activities 🙂

⚜️Badges all ready to go for tomorrow. We have also based our Spring term programme on the pack forum we did last week so more badges will be earned over the coming months. Of course this wouldn't be possible without a termly leaders meeting where not only do we get the planning done but we enjoy the occaisonal light saber duel too⚜️

⚜️First Cub session of 2025 complete! Tonight we held a Scout's Own where the Cubs reflected on what it means to be part of a pack and part of the World Organization of the Scout Movement - WOSM. We then held a pack forum, where in teams, they had to list the top 5 badges they'd like to achieve. Now armed with a list of their interests, the leaders will be working them into the programme. The evening finished with another investment into our pack family. Welcome Jorge, you are now officially one of us!⚜️

🙂Thank you to the leaders tonight for enabling the children in their reflections and helping them to work effectively in their teams🙂

Here a couple of pictures of the cubs exploring Stafford High House last night.
We want to do a big shoutout to the team at Historic Stafford, and a reminder of all the fun we have had with them at some of Stafford’s historic buildings this year.
In the summer we visited the castle, where we had a tour, and had a weapons demonstration.
Later in the summer, we returned to the castle and did a bee survey, and made bee houses, some of our leaders also attended the Viking event in the summer holidays to promote our group.
Last night we had fun exploring the High House after dark, where the cubs got involved in making suggestions about exhibitions or features they would like to see in the building.
This is all thanks to the team at Historic Stafford, who look after Heritage sites in Stafford. The High House, Izaak Walton’s cottage, and of course the Castle which is very close to our group.
These sites are all free to visit, but donations would be appreciated so that they can continue their important work in maintaining and developing these important historic sites for the enjoyment of everyone in Stafford and beyond.
We are very much looking forward to having more adventures with them next year, and thank them for the support of our Scout Group!
