☘️ Saint Patrick's Day ☘️

We have had a fabulous evening learning all about St. Patrick's Day today! Our Squirrels watched a short video about what the day is about, went on a scavenger hunt around our grounds to find lots of Irish symbols, used our noses to identify some different smells, and we ended with a very messy foam party! 🤣😁 Needless to say, everyone had a blast!

🌟🐿️⚜️ Squirrel of the Week ⚜️🐿️🌟 this week was one of of newest Squirrels, Henri. He did such an amazing job on our scavenger hunt, and identified lots of the different smells - brilliant effort 😁

💥 British Science Week 💥

This week was a brilliant example of how capable our Squirrels really are - we did science experiments at our meeting and they did such a great job!

There were fizzy things, smelly things, slimy things, and even fire! We also hope to sprout some beans to plant 🌱 lots of fun was had by all 🐿️⚜️

This week our Squirrels enjoyed celebrating Pancake Day (even if we were a day early!). We talked about Shrove Tuesday and Lent, had a pancake race, made pancake crowns and decorated our own pancakes with all kinds of delicious toppings! It was a very sticky evening 🤣

We also managed to spend some time outside, and had our first campfire of the year to celebrate investing FIVE new Squirrels!!

Our meeting this week was all about Founders Day, and Lord Baden-Powell! We covered some of the history of Scouting, looked at the different sections, our promise, and played a fun story game!

The Squirrels did a brilliant job 😊

⚜️🐿️🌟 Squirrel of the Week 🌟🐿️😊 was Leo, he did really good listening and reading, and was super sensible during the meeting! Well done Leo! 😁

We had so much fun making pitta pizzas at our meeting last night! We discussed cleanliness and safety in the kitchen, made/cooked/ate our pizzas, completed a colouring/cutting/sticking task, and played our beloved 'What's the time Mr Wolf!'

All of the Squirrels did an incredible job, they shared the ingredients, and behaved very sensibly with the food. Fantastic end to the half term! 😊😁

This week is Children's Mental Health Week, so we've been looking at feelings at Squirrels. We talked about emotions and feelings, how they make us behave, and ways to help ourselves feel good. Our Squirrels did a great job of understanding such a complex topic!

We also played a new game, called odd socks, which was a lot of fun!

We had a very messy meeting last night making a couple of different bird feeders! The Squirrels took them home to help our feathered friends during the winter weather 🐦 We also made some lovely colourful bird pictures 😊
After our bird crafts, the Squirrels got their hands on our Lego! They made some fabulous vehicular creations, and raced them around our hut 😁🏎️🚗✈️

🌟⚜️🐿️ Squirrel of the Week 🐿️⚜️🌟 this week was our newest Squirrel, Theo. He concentrated so well during our craft activities, and produced two great feeders! Well done Theo!
